Have built model crane.Weighs approx 60lbs. with 3' boom. Boom is operable and has eight part line. Boom, hoist and swing are controlled by 4vdc motors. I am attempting to make it radio controlled with model airplane equipment. I have been trying to find dpdt toggle switches (miniture) with long arms and a very light operating throw. Can anyone help.
Re: toggle switch
Why not just use relays? You can cascade 2 or more to boost the power handling capabilities. I'm not sure but I think R/C receivers have digital outputs. If you really want to use the mechanical servos then a photo interruptor sensor with its output transistor pulling down a relay's coil could work. If you have an electronics background then I suggest you try taking the PWM output of the receiver and interfacing it directly to your crane's motors.
Please post pictures.
Re: toggle switch
No electronics unfortunately but maybe I can figure out something with relays. Thanks
Re: toggle switch
You may have a problem with holding torque specially on the spool i would suggest a 360deg servo to hold your positions. Just my 2c.

Re: toggle switch
Bro 227y has a point. Getting motors to generate the needed holding torque will not be easy and will require some somewhat sophisticated electronics. The mechanical solution is to use a worm gear somewhere. Windshield wiper motors, assemblies actually, use a worm I think, so do car power window assemblies.
You still owe us pictures Bro.
