As the title says, where can I buy a Double pole double throw switch with center off and up and down momentary function (spring loaded) to be used in an automotive application. I can't seem to find one anywhere. For comparison, your power window switches for your cars are exactly like that. Thanks. ;D

Re: Where to buy dpdt switch?

If you can't find one, why not make your own with four push button switches and a toggle? We are DIYers after all. 🙂

I haven't seen these switches in electronic supplies. I have seen double pole double throw switches with a center off at DEECO, but these are not spring loaded.

It's called Momentary flip switch, DPDT. Centre off.

Re: Where to buy dpdt switch?

A DPDT switch is exactly what you need to make a 4-way, 5-way, etc. control for a lighting fixture, no? (For 3-way, you need two SPDT. For 4-way, you need that plus one DPDT for a total of three switches. For 5-way, one more DPDT for a total of four switches, and so on. I don't know why 3-way is called that; shouldn't it be called 2-way since there are two switches.)

Now, DPDT is commonly available as a toggle switch (with 'joystick'). But has anyone seen DPDT in the form of something that is compatible with wall switch plate and wall switch mounting bracket, so that it can be mounted and look like a normal light switch?
