Re: FS: BOSCH Cordless drill

In particular, the Bosch PH website (current) says:
GSB 14,4-2-LI Part No. 0 601 9A5 4K0

whereas the unit of timber pictured is (and I think the Bosch PH website previously said):
GSR 14,4-2-LI Part No. 0 601 9A4 4K1

Who knows what the difference is.

There was a cordless lithium impact drill before? Hard to believe that Bosch PH would have put one out only to find low sales (presumably due to high cost?). If they do such strange experiments, why not try table saw.

If this 14.4 V model, whether GSB or GSR, is not an impact model, and I doubt that it is, then their current PH website is clearly wrong, as it is described as impact and even shows an impact rate spec.

In general, I wish Bosch PH would have a quality assurance process when publishing product info on its website, so that it is 100% accurate. Due to the errors and questionables (past and present*), instead of considering it as trustworthy and authoritative, which is what you look for in a manufacturer's website, we have to second guess the info.
(*For example, there appears to be a critical and glaring error in the laser product info/specs.)

I assume that those who want the impact model want it because it would have more torque, not so much because of the impact function itself, which is intended for masonry only. When driving into wood, the impact function should be turned off, no?

BTW, for torque comparison between PH and US models, the conversion is 4.448 newton per lb, or 8.85 lb-in per N-m, right? Using this conversion factor, the 14.4 V model's max torque is 38 N-m or 336 lb-in, whereas the entry-level non-impact US model is rated 400 lb-in. The rpm of the PH model is slightly lower too.

Re: FS: BOSCH Cordless drill

impact models doesn't necessarily mean it is intended for masonry alone (different from hammer function), often it is used for driving long screws esp. for framing. and even laying roofs and steel purlins. here is an example though not the exact model, it can and does the same job. works great when you have a high torque requirement.
as of this time I am confirming the model with Bosch Phils. will send info as soon as I have word.

Re: FS: BOSCH Cordless drill

well it turns out that the GSB 14.4 impact model is available by indent order. seems that Bosch intended to put it there to see if there is a requirement (it is my opinion only). I have inquired the price for this Doc V. will advice when reply becomes available.

Re: FS: BOSCH Cordless drill

Not sure 'lucky' is right word, more like surprised/blindsided. Was planning to get the 18 V model (larger chuck, more torque) for same price ($150), but this happened to be close by.

Yes, it is the same GSR model and part number as pictured, not the model on the Bosch PH website.

Maybe someone can use this example to suggest to Bosch PH not to just drop previous/older models from their website as if they never existed, but to archive them in a separate section (e.g., Support - Previous or Discontinued Models). In consideration for customers who have them and so that the history of previous models is preserved.

Thanks for the impact vs. hammer comment, had to look that one up. I confused the two because they are usually present together in wired models. When present, it seems that the impact function is automatic not switchable, unlike the hammer function, but I understand that future models might allow the impact function to be switched on/off. Even the manual for one Bosch model confuses the two terms, saying not to use impact on tile, when they meant hammer.

Re: FS: BOSCH Cordless drill

hahaha, believe me Guad, I have tried to convince them of their local website, but Golden is in a different department not connected to the site, another department controls it. I have been frustrated about their site even before it was starting out, that is why I ended calling them instead and it turned out for the better since that is how I got involved with them. Hence it was a bad thing turned good for me.
3units GSR 14,4-2 LI (lithium-ion tech) impact drill -8000 L-12% =7040 net
i believe the GSR models are not IMPACT drivers and merely drill drivers.

the GDR are the models that are IMPACT drivers.

i have a GDR 9.6V and its an impact drill driver with 90N torque.

please correct me if am wrong.

thanks
