I suppose its better to have them both. The barbed wire attached to concrete posts will definitely specify boundaries of your property and with the addition of Bougainvillas planted along side the fence will help prevent intruders somehow. Maybe in addition, you can plant some Sword agave in intervals between the bougainvillas to add variety and interest.

This sword agave has low hardy trunk and on top is a dense rosette of sword shaped grayish green leaves with sharp pointed tips and prickled edges.

Thanks for the advice Mr.Rosy, do you know where I can buy Sword Agave plants? The garden stores here in Tagaytay do not sell them.

If you have some free time you can go to Bulacan, they have plenty of ornamental garden/plant growers in that area and you may find something else there as a substitute perhaps for the sword agave. You can also get some advice from them as plant growers. So good luck !!
