Water and UV sealers are the most important treatment. Don't use the popular brand that starts w/ an "S" for infestation issues as we found out it has starch and sugars that wood mites and bukbok love to eat as soon as it dries from application. They produce sugar crystals as a result of their diluted packaging(cheating). Oil and solvent based treatments are the best for outdoor use. Try to get those w/ UV protection incorporated in their formula.:)

Bro, Solignum works for me just fine, no problem with it except its foul chemical odor which is so appaling. Anyway naman sa labas mo gagamitin so there will be more air circulation.

There is another brand that I can recommend, its PHENOSEAL liquid waterproofing for masonry, concrete , wood and more. Its clear, non toxic, non flammable and so safe to use. NO ODOR !!!:D:p;)

As Willy said, water and UV sealers are most important.

If you can afford it, use epoxy resin to make it completely waterproof. Boatbuilders use it. Then paint it either with enamel or polyurethane varnish. The latter is transparent so the wood is visible. You need to coat the epoxy to make it UV resistant.

Epoxy resins are available at Polymer Products. Website here. Poly varnish are available in many hardware stores. Just get the one with UV protection.

I have wooden trellis at home but used only one of those waterseals in Ace. After 5 yrs, they started showing signs of rot.

I just concept it will be an example to write incase everyone else was basically experiencing difficulity considering and yet I'm sure a little bit of suspicious considerably more than simply morning allowed to position manufacturers not to mention talks about concerning in this case. Tax Advice

the last time i went to Citi Hardware here in Koronadal, i saw some treated wood ... if the price difference is not that too big between an intreated wood, i would suggest just buying treated wood instead ... i also saw some "plastic wood" there and i have read about it also in the internet and this product are really the best if you have the budget for it ... if you have'mt tried to treat wood before, then its a big risk because once its installed, its going to be hard to re-treat the wood again in the future ... as what rossy said, solignum is already good enough but to really make it work, you need to apply it more than once, 2-3x times applying it around the whole area of the wood will be better ... for bamboo, i used tudor before, i'm just not sure if it will work for other type of wood ... cheers
