last weekend spent 3 days up in Big Handy. was able to do some fence fixing using hog wire rolls.

started trimming the grass around the house, still a long way to go before ma clear yung place. the rain really makes things grow faster, its all green but bilis talaga humaba. by the time you finish one end mahaba na ulit yung na umpisahan mo.

hahahaha !!! Walang ka gastos gastos yang grass trimmer mo na yan plus it gives out natural fertilizer continuously after eating the grass/talahib around your place. OH, have you made a shed for her already ? Baka magkasakit yan at makunan dahil sa continuous rain, LOL :twister3::hysterical:

Bro Ernie, its really a blessing to be away from the concrete jungles of the city but having some raw tracks of land to be maintained is really time consuming and very tiring, its upkeep sometimes entails un necessary expenses like the purchase of several garden tools( grass/hedge trimmers, wheel barrows, etc etc ) plus the arkila ng tao for the maintenance. Talagang matrabaho, that is why sometimes I have no time to log in dito sa forum or post metal projects. sigh ! 🙁

Well that is the price we have to pay to have a peaceful and nice place to live away from pollution of the city jungles, hehehe :p

yes Rosy, thats the first thing we build after getting her, we built a shed for her, oh, did i mention that she is pregnant and will be expecting a calf by december. konti nalang may new addition to the family kami.

and we also built a caretakers house near the dirt road so that they can monitor all that passes by the property.

funny nga cause they registered the caretakers house sa Green Revolution movemnet, there is a contest daw now going on. hope our caretakers win. im all out support for what they need. told them to include that the house has its own rain collection system that brings water in the house via pipes, plus of course the house is equiped with solar power set up for the lights, radio and their portable dvd players.

we now stay there longer, saturdays to monday. so basically we dont wait for long weekends, all weekends are long for us.

then para di OT, that gives us time to do ground maintenance. and yes, it is an extra cost , the cost to travel to and back home, the extra helps, the gas to run the equipments, grass cutters, posts for fence maintenance. but hey, when you get to sleep out doors in peace all of that expense is paid for already.

you have it better though cause you get to stay in your place everyday

speaking of hedge trimming, does anyone know anong klaseng hedge/bush ang mabilis tumubo and can grow upto 5 feet tall? privacy hedge is what they call it in the west? wondering if those plants have any tropical cousins.

Hey twisted,

You can try Maki or Raphis. Also San Francisco, with lost of variety of colorful and shapes of leaves.
You may try Fortune plant, it grows so tall, more than ten feet but at three or four feet you can cut the main trunks and in a few weeks you'd have new beautiful fresh growth.

But if you have other types or variety in mind, you can go to a garden/plant shop and ask the seller for suggestions.
