McCULLOCH : Petrol Blower/Vacuum review

Here's a review of the McCULLOCH petrol blower/vacuum, bought it early this year from an on-line seller in Sulit., www.pyth.sulit.com.ph. I did not make a review immediately coz I wanted to find out first how it will perform, how effective this new unit will be as a blower and a vacuum here in my property and garden.

Now after more than three months of constant use, or daily use, I'm satisfied with its performance and just love this new toy of mine. This unit has saved me lots of working hours in cleaning/sweeping of daily leaf sheddings from the caimito tree, narra tree, sampalok tree, acacia tree and a clump of bamboo lining my driveway up to the car garage.

Though it is very effective as a blower and a vacuum, I have just relegated it to perform as a blower since I have another new toy that will serve only as a vacuum, it is another brand that I will also make a review soon.

Here are some pics of the McCULLOCH petrol blower/vacuum.

The components or parts of the unit, The main unit/body and engine, the blower and the vacuum tube, the vacuum bag[white] , the elbow tube and high speed nozzle and the user's manual.

The unit model on the engine and muffler cover.

The manufacturer and where it is made.

The unit without the attachements.

Another continuation of the unit in review:

Here on this side the vacuum inlet cover is open.

A closer look of the vacuum inlet and showing the impeller inside, this impeller is the one that shreds the leaves that are being sucked by the vacuum.

This unit is very efficient in terms of fuel consumption, it uses a mixture of 2 stroke motor oil and premium gasoline, with a mixture ratio of 40 : 1 or in easier terms, 25ml oil to a liter of gasoline. The unit has a net weight of 4.25 kg, that without the fuel and the attachments.
Its very easy to start and the pull cord is very soft to pull, though the sound power level is 108 db, I still recommend wearing an ear protection coz the sound of the engine is quite bothersome in prolonged use. The unit/engine is easy to maintain, I guess that's what all other McCULLOCH petrol engines are, easy to maintain as long as you follow carefully the user's manual. BY the way the engine capacity of this unit is only 25cc but it packs a lot of power.

Re: McCULLOCH: Petrol Blower/Vacuum review

The blower/vacuum ready for action.

Complete attachement and ready to do the job as a leaf blower.

The operator's safety gears while doing the job.

A wider perspective of the area to be worked on.
There's the bamboo clumps continuously shedding its leave specially during summer months and the McCULLOCH leaf blower/vacuum is just perfect for the task at hand.

Sir hindi ba mas matipid ang 4 stroke 25cc engine, mas powerful at mas tahimik than 2 stroke 25cc, yun nga lang may kamahalan ang 4 stroke.

Re: McCULLOCH: Petrol Blower/Vacuum review

@ Ashock,

Bro you are right mas matipid and 4 stroke engines plus powerful pa. On 4 stroke engines there is no need to add some oil on the gasoline, pwede na straight premium gasoline ang gamit.

For my purpose, the 25cc 2 stroke engine will suffice already since blower lang naman magiging function ng unit plus e this is the only available reliable engines in the online market and mura pa.

Re: McCULLOCH: Petrol Blower/Vacuum review

Thanks Ashlock for the compliments on the garden tools.

Actually all of these garden tools that I am using were purchased locally and from a good friend and an online seller sa Sulit.com, his name is pyth who happens to be a member of the PHM community also.

The guy is very honest and trustworthy, very much concern of the clients satisfaction.

Every time I use my 2 stroke engine tools I see to it that I have my safety goggles, ear muffs, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots on with working denim pants and comfortable shirt.
