hello,
i have read before that ceiling fan is better for air circulation, and i am considering this to replace the electric fans we have in our bedrooms, hindi naman kasi kainitan sa amin except summer na walang choice but to use air conditioning, ano po ba pros and cons nito at bakit wala masyado sa mga bahay?
need your advise and comments para mapag isipan mabuti kung ok or not
salamat po!
Re: about ceiling fans
I would recommend ceiling fan with light in each bedroom. I think ceiling fan are more expensive than the more conventional electric fans we have. But ceiling fan are worth it, tatagal sya talaga. We have ceiling which was install in the late 90's. Buo pa sya when we decided to replace it with modern contemporary one.
Re: about ceiling fans
Hi Bro,
I had some of my bedrooms fans replaced with ceiling fans. Below are the Pros & Cons I have observed:
Pros:
1. No floor space occupied
2. No wires on the floor
3. Wide area of coverage especially in the bed.
4. Almost no maintenance. More durable than a regular electric fan. Sealed type bearings compared to bushings.
5. Good air circulation
Cons
1. Difficult to mount and wire. You should have a sturdy ceiling.
2. Cannot be moved or borrowed to other locations
3. You cannot re orient the position of the bed
I positioned the switch in my headrest so i can adjust the speed conveniently while lying down. I even made a 110/220Volts selector switch to have a wider range of speed.
Re: about ceiling fans
Ceiling fans too are great for air circulations provided you have high ceiling. Most homeowners prefer wall type or stand/desk fans because they are more convenient and practical for them plus considering the fact that these fans are not that to expensive. These stand/desk fans can be positioned in any directions and can be carried anywhere in the house, unlike a ceiling fan simply placed on the ceiling and will still need someone knowledgeable to install it. Well it will save some flooring space also.:)
But overall for me, they are all ok, depends na lang sa preference and whatever one chooses for his/her room or sala for that matter. 😉

Sir, nakapagdecide ba kayo kung ceiling fan ba gagamitin nyo?
Actually, i'm looking for one also since maliit yung room nung napakakulit kong daughter (a terrible 2). I'm eyeing for a Hunter one from Co Ban Kiat pero wala pa akong idea kung anong model na low profile yung available sa philippine market (medyo tamad yung nakausap kong staff kasi intinuro ako sa ace, handyman, true value at dun daw tingnan yung model which is impossible dahil alam nating lahat na laging hindi kumpleto ang display nga mga branches nila).
What brand and model you'll be using dapat?
TIA
Re: about ceiling fans
^ wala pa sir akong naka-canvass, check ko pa area and height nung room bago ako hanap;)
Re: about ceiling fans
I bought my ceiling fans in Farmers Market Cubao. Beside the wet market facing Araneta Coliseum along side Jolibee. There are small cramp stalls there where you can buy so many appliances and other kitchen wares displayed outside their stalls. Those big ceiling fans are very seldom sold already. Ive bought a 3D brand and its been running still for more than half a decade w/o any problem. Even its rotary switch is so durable.
Re: about ceiling fans
I bought a ceiling fan from Home depo. may ilaw na din and best of all, it has a remote for both light and fan speed. No need to install wirings for the controls. Kinda expensive lang for me pero sulit.
