Hi guys, tanong lang po...

I have a 'professional grade' (ayon sa specs) waffle maker. It's 110 volts and 1200 watts. Ang question ko is ano dapat ang rating / wattage ng step down transformer for this appliance. Read different ratings, dapat daw 2x ng wattage, e the higher it gets, the more expensive it is.

Maraming salamat.

In principle the power source should be greater than the appliance. For most Heater based devices I think 1.5x to 2x the capacity should be more than enough. Hindi naman sya motor na 3x the capacity ang kailangan during start ups. Note that you are powering up a transformer coil that consumes a lil juice just to operate your cookware. It's a lil bit high on the consumption side but I guess a few waffles won't hurt you. If you are intending to use it for commercial production then you might be better off with a 220v model. Just my two centavos.:)

Hey bro sadoygidi,

I don't think it will hurt a bit if you will just buy a small stepdown transformer dedicated only for that 110 waffle maker. IMHO its more easier and safer that way than accidentally plugging it on a 220 socket ! 😉

If it was me, that is simply what I will do.

Cheers and enjoy your waffles !!!

get a 2kw transformer and dedicate it for your waffle maker if you use it often. i also put labels with HUGE 110v at the end of the cord near the plug of all my 110v stuff.

Re: Correct step down transformer...

Salamat sa mga payo guys... I actually have one 110v outlet (isa lang) sa kitchen area. It's set up near the electrical panel kaso nung na plano ito, it was meant for a 350w appliance kaya 50w lang rating nya... just need to have it replaced.
