This is my water heater

Here's the scenario, there's only 1 water pipe for the shower, so no hot and cold. I don't plan to break the wall to change the piping.
the heater when set to the lowest setting is still a bit hot. is there a way to fine tune the setting so I can get a lower temp?

Thanks

Re: Help - water heater setting

sir ... hindi kaya may sira heater mo kc AFAIK if naka off yun heater dapat normal water temp from the source ang lalabas kahit na dumaan sa heater unit mo not unless kakapatay mo lang yun heater after use

Re: Help - water heater setting

Pag naka-off cold/room temp water lang. what I meant was when I set it to low the water is still a bit too hot, I need it to be a little cooler

Re: Help - water heater setting

try mo lang

increase the water that flows to the heater. that way di masyado mapapainit ng heater yong water.

hope this helps

Re: Help - water heater setting

I agree with Junn. The easiest way is to get more water flowing through the heater. The instant water heaters, as opposed to the storage type water heaters, depend on three things to set water temperature: the thermostat setting of the heating coil, the ambient temperature of the water, and the water flow.

The easiest to control is the water flow, but only if you have sufficient water pressure. Also, check if your shower head is the water saving type, which uses only 2.5 gallons per minute. This shower head severely restricts water flow, making the water too hot.

Re: Help - water heater setting

Guys,

Increasing the water flow might not solve the problem. If the heater is strong, it will heat the water to the set temperature. Unless one pumps in water too big for the heater to handle. I guess the range of the thermostat should be settable (?) to temperatures just above ambient. National should be contacted for this and specs asked.

Re: Help - water heater setting

junn2006, 2diy4,
Waterflow is good naman, but in any case naka-full open na yung faucet, and I stay in a bldg so I can't make the pressure stronger.

tatoski,
??? ::) didn't think about asking national, maybe I'll give it a shot.

Actually I was thinking of spliting the water coming out, 1 to the heater and putting a faucet or an angle valve on the other, then recombining the hot and cold again. I was toying the idea in my mind, ok kaya yun? though I know it won't look good.

Re: Help - water heater setting

Mixing hot and cold water is a solution though not elegant for your set up. But I guess its better than having to shower with too hot a water. I still believe there is something amiss with your heater. It should provide water from ambient until too hot to touch.

Re: Help - water heater setting

Takotski,
Actually the temp is just a bit hot, yung initial na buhos ng water esp if you've come from an a/c room, when you've adjusted to it, ok na.

originally the heater came from a hot and cold system (2 pipes) kaya ok lang.

The switch has low, med, high setting, not a continuous switch for the temp. So I was hoping that there is temp adjuster inside for fine tuning

I haven't called national but I'm not sure if they would give that kind of info.

Re: Help - water heater setting

Ganyan din problema ng heater namin. Halos lahat kasi ng kapitbahay namin naka-water tank/pump kaya kapag umaga't gising sila, humihina water pressure sa amin, though not to the point of uselessness. I'm actually thinking of investing in a small pump, kaso ala pang datung e.
