Hi guys!
Just wanted to ask a good (cheap?) way to clean our gas stove burner rings (the one you put the cooking pan on) coz it has so much HARDENED Carbon , probably due to an improperly adjusted flame (too much yellow) in the past. This will really make my wife happy and me satisfied! 🙂
I tried a drill with a circular metal brush, but no luck! How about dipping it in a chemical like muriatic acid, and leaving it naka babad for several minutes? Any better suggestions? THANKS!

Re: HOW to clean carbon off gas stove burner ring
Hi,
Try this:
1. Take it off the Stove and put it outside on a open area.
2. With an acetylene torch burn off the carbon deposits. Your objective is to heat it to 500degC (not melt it!!)
This is what is normally termed as Pyrolytic cleaning used by hi-tech ovens to late.
I haven't tried it, but hope this helps.
Re: HOW to clean carbon off gas stove burner ring
is the burner rings made of stainless steel, chrome-plated steel, or the plated die-cast metal?
usually for stainless steel, soak in water with some detergent (or liquid sosa) works...
for chrome-plated steel, paint thinner...
for die-cast metal trivets, best is to brush off the carbon or rust with steel brush then (spray) paint it with hi-temp paint (silver-color works best)

Not sure if this applies to you but we use baking soda + water for cleaning all sorts of stuff in the kitchen.

Never!!! Don't ask me why I know it, luckily I have a very patient and understanding wife

Fotunately, I was quick to react and rinsed the bubbling thing ASAP. The stove oven was a gift to my wife and was just 1 month old then which made my booboo worse.
