Re: How to oil electric fans
as far as i know modern fans has self oiling system. Correct me if i'm wrong mga ka phm.:thanks:
true that, the bushings of later model fans use a self oiling brass material the only reason they become loose is when the fan does not get much cleaning dust particles lodge in the bushing causing a tighter fan turn until eventually the bushing loosens.
Re: How to oil electric fans
hi.. sharing my DIY project para sa interested sa pagpapalit ng bushing sa fan - I did this a while back and it's easy to replace most bushings - pero oftentimes - before ako magpalit ng bushing - I use WD-40 muna - pansamantala.. pero a word of caution - once the shaft gets stuck - usually burnt oil sticks and causes the shaft to seize - it could burn your motor/fuse.

Re: How to oil electric fans
It used to be the bushing needed replacing, nowadays as I have observed it is the rotor shaft.
If you can get to Arayat at the Cubao junction of EDSA and Arayat in a side street on the wet market side of EDSA parallel to EDSA and ask around, there is a guy there outside a small shop supplying fan parts, he fixes the stuck fan by replacing the rotor shaft, and you pay the shop as of last month, 150 pesos only -- and you can choose to give a tip to the repairman.
This repairman has a missing right hand that is why he covers his right wrist with a small towel as he works.

Pano po maayos ung maingay na electric fan
May I suggest that you bring your fan to a repair shop so a technician can examine
the cause of that noise, may it be mechanical or just some needed cleaning or
possibly some oiling or greasing. Mura lang yan kung walang sira. :cool01:
