I am having problems with my ice cream maker which automatically shuts off after it had been turned on for 10-15 minutes. I had to press the reset button of the circuit breaker to make whole machine run again. The same thing happens after 15 minutes....I have checked for short circuits but I can not find one. It has 3 replaceable capacitors....do you thinks it has something to do with this.....or does it have something to do with the thermostat? I have been looking for expert repairmen specializing in ice cream makers but i can not find one......Any suggestions....Thanks
Re: Ice cream maker -
there's an overload-relay protector attached at the terminals of the motor compressor, try replacing them
Re: Ice cream maker -
In my experience, the thermal switch or overload relay protector on the compressor activates because there is already a fault in the compressor. A single shorted winding in the compressor makes it overheat, tripping the thermal switch, although the compressor will run a few minutes. The aircon repairman will test the compressor using a clamp meter and a higher than normal ampere draw indicates a shorted winding. Repair is a compressor rewind or replacement.
