I want to split my current cable for another LCD TV in another room in my house.
What materials do i need besides the coax cable and splitter?
What model is the coax cable?
How do I stick the cable to the edge of the walls, glue gun will do?
TIA!

Re: installing cable for TV

CMIIW - for the cable i think it ought to be an RG59/58. If you're not using pre-terminated cables you'd definitely need the crimp-type connectors for the specific cable size and the crimping tools.
I am assuming you don't want to be punching holes in your walls that's why you were asking whether the glue gun/stick would do the trick. I think a more tidy option would be cable tie mounts or cable mounts which are put in place by double sided tapes.

Re: installing cable for TV

Re: installing cable for TV

I bought mine more than year ago from AVESCO in Cubao, that was Christmas time and this unit came with 110v supply. I heard Radio Shack also sells this brand but, honestly, can't locate any Radio Shack outlet now, the last was the one in Ali Mall. There might be stores in G. Puyat in Quiapo that sell cable signal amplifier, my friend got a Philips brand.

Re: installing cable for TV

Thanks B2bomber! Have to run the cable along walls in the condo.

So the signal booster serves 2 purposes, booster and splitter? Wow.
Question would be the signal booster needs a power outlet? Manggyver said his is 110v.

The booster, Motorola, i mentioned is just a booster - has 1-in & 1-out connectors. You still need a splitter after the signal booster. You need a power supply for the booster to operate.

Cable TV systems don't use RG58 or RG 59. RG 58 is 50 ohms impedance and is used for radio communications. RG 59 is used for baseband video signals. The correct cable type is RG 6. The connectors are called F-type and come in diff sizes for diff cables so specify when buying. There are china-made boosters the size of splitters available at deeco at about 250 to 350 pesos. I've used them in several installations and they all work well so far
