Joking aside, if you have lots of clothes (specially demanding like jeans) to wash better go with the heavy duty ones. Otherwise you might invest on the 10-15K budget level as I'm sure it is sturdy enough to bring you from dirty to pretty 😉

Is it fine to soak clothes in the WM overnight? I plan to initially agitate the clothes in water and soap for few mins in the evening, let it sit overnight and then rinse and spin in the morning before going to work.

i want to believe that they are built to be waterproof as they could be, just asking to be sure.

Yes, the machines should be able to take it. I'd be more worried about the colorfastness of the clothes you're going to soak. Baka magkahawa-hawa ang kulay.

I see, but I intend to soak the heavy ones like jeans, blankets and towels (of course not all together) so I guess it would be safe. The Soak mode kasi eats too much time and so I'm thinking of buying some time if I start the whole ritual the night before.

We do this all the time with our Magic Chef WM. Overnight soaking.

There 's an Anson's Scratch and Dent sale going on at Cash and Carry ground floor.

I'm not sure if it's a good price but I got a 10.5 kg capacity upright model for 25.5K. The washing machine is made by Allegiance in the USA for American Homes brand.

Except for a very small chip at one side of the controls plate edge the unit looks new. Still in the box and plastic when we tested. The slight damage can be fixed by JB Weld to make it look as if nothing happened.

Don't know yet if it's better or not but the rotating drum inside is made of stainless steel.

Six months warranty.

Will post pics when I receive delivery. Hopefully for the benefit of those who will be in the same position I am when I asked for members' advise on this appliance.

Resurrecting this thread as I have a need for a new washing machine.

My whirlpool is about to die, SMBO says. A friend of hers swears by Speed Queen. It's a little-known brand among consumer models but supposed to be well known in commercial laundries. They have some heavy duty ones locally available. 2 year warranty plus 5 years on transmission. Looks ugly but looks solid.

Anyone have any experience with this brand?

We're not happy with this American Homes Brand. Our aging but still working Magic Chef is a lot better as my Symbo says. I did not ask anymore why but I'm sure she has her reasons.

Why do other people complain about their Washing Machine's electrical and water consumption. Ung iba sabi malakas daw sa tubig. Ung iba sabi malakas daw sa kuryente. Eh ung sakin nga malakas na sa Kape, tapos tuwing Wednesday at Saturday lang gumagana. Medyo malakas din sa kuryente kasi may Radyo pang kasabay habang gumagana. Pero 20 years ko na syang kasama. "Belen" ang pangalan nya at di sya American made.:laundry::D:D:D

we have been using an LG fuzzy logic fully automatic for 7 years now.

repaired twice already. electronic board got busted by a power surge before. a couple of year after, the drain mechanism have to be repaired. but it is still working up to this writing.

malaking ginhawa kasi si yaya pwede mag multi tasking.

thread's been long idle, but allow me to resurrect it a bit.

what's a good belt type heavy duty locally available washing machine today? load is adult and children clothing including jeans. there will also be curtains (quite a lot actually, combination of 4' and 8' blackout) and bed sheets (1 king and 2 singles).
