Please help. I plan to diy a floating wall where I would mount my 40" lcd and I've gone to about every hardware looking for anchor bolts or the like but no one seems to have an idea what I was talking about. Basically I need something to fasten the 2x4's into the concrete wall to serve as studs for the tv brackets and the mdf board. Is concrete nail really the only way? Can someone point me to where I could buy the anchors or bolts and what length should I get. Thanks.

Re: 2x4 to concrete wall

I think they're also called expansion bolts. You could also use a lag screw with an insert. These are commonly available.

May I suggest for extra security you drill the hole extra big and then bed the insert (and screw) with epoxy. This will give a much firmer grip to the concrete.

These are quite common. I've seen them in regular hardware stores as well as mall hardware store.

Thanks for the reply. I've been to ACE, DIY and TruValue pero wala silang maibigay na screw sa akin. Wala bang mga sleeve anchors or split drive like this.. http://www.xtanchor.com/cp11.html na mabibilhan dito?

if you're near san juan, there is a store along Pinaglabanan street, its called Y2K, you'l have a much better chance or choices of anchors that you can use. otherwise if you have the number of HILTI, they also sell some anchors that they use as an accessories for Building cladding works.
