Hi, I'm a newbie on DIY and I want to add a wall in a room that I'm going to place in AC. Will a 2x2 wood stud do for hardiflex? I'm looking at some tutorials and all of them said 2x4's but I'd really want to save space as much as possible.
Will a 2 X 3 work for you ?

won’t the 2x2 work? also what kind of wood would work best for studs gmelina, lauan or mahogany?
Bro, using 2 X 2 has less strength or rigidity compared to a 2 X 3 or 2 X 4 wood
frame partition, actually you won't get the exact size of the 2 X 3s or the 2 X 4s if
you prefer the S/S. Lauan or mahogany will just be fine since they will just be
covered with Hardiflex or your desired paneling.

the wall will be just a partition and won't be load bearing. I'm hoping to save space as much as possible. I'll probably using the cheapest wood I can find too, thanks!
Hello, sorry if hijack ko yung thread.
marine plywood which is not fireproof nor termite proof.
Hope this helps,:thumbup::goodluck:

Hello to all PHM members. It's nice to be back after a long vacation. I agree with our friend Rosy's take on FICEMBOARD as an alternative material for ceiling panel. However pls. note that you may need to increase your frame support as the weight of Ficemboard ranges from about 3.5 to 4 kilos per mm thickness depending on the brand you use but take this reference weight as a safe gauge just as well.
Hope this helps.
instead of wood for the framing, please try metal studs, it will be more cheaper. but you have a drill machine for the screwing the board on the frame
Thanks for your sharing. Hope you can contribute more quality posts to this page. Thank you!

Hi,
