Re: All About Drywalling

nail guns are not meant to be used for fixing the boards to the frames. screws are the best way to fix the boards, it needs the threads to pull the boards in place.

ramset, thats fired by 22cal blanks with drive pins, you can use it to fasten the tracks to the concrete walls, concrete slabs. if you are attaching the trackes to a wooden wall then you dont need ramsets, just screw it sa wood.

ramset just makes it easier to attach the tracks as compared to hammering a concrete nail to attach it.

but then the ramset is a big investment if you are going to use it ones or twice lang.

Master Doc V, enjoying pa din ako sa circular blade that i bought from you. pag may tatapon ka ulit throw it my way please 🙂

Re: All About Drywalling

mga sirs, tanong ko lang kung masilya talaga ang magandang pang fill ng seam between two fiber cement boards? are there any choices, medyo mahirap kasi i manupulate ang masilya eh.

im currently finishing the exterior of my steel framed garage project i started last jan 2011. super bagal kaya di pa tapos:D

@twisted
have you tried perforated paper tape or fiberglass tape prior to masilya?

Re: All About Drywalling

i haven't tried it actually, its just that my experience with masilya when i had his fiberglassing project was not so good.

anyway will the perforated paper tape hold? pang exterior kasi ito so im expecting it to get wet every once in a while. pero will paint over it naman kahit papano.

i used vinyl tiles, but you can drill through tile without breaking it.

Re: All About Drywalling

Note that the studs are further apart than the maximum 24" recommended. The reason is that alanganin yung mga putol ng sheet goods. The placement of the intermediate studs will be decided where the smaller sheets need to be jointed. I'll end up with slightly more studs than necessary, but it's more cost effective to pay for a few extra studs than to have a lot of 6mm hardiflex offcuts.

Re: All About Drywalling

What can you suggest if I'm going to hang a 40" LCD TV sa drywall. What kind of frames and boards to use and their distances?

TIA

Re: All About Drywalling

hi guys, im back 🙂

my project was postponed for more than a year because the developer of my townhouse failed to complete my unit on time. it is now about 95% complete so i would like to pursue my DIY drywall project for the partitions. i hope somebody can help me think of a way to reinforce the doors of my partitions. as you can see in the floor plan (attached), all three doors are adjacent to the intersecting walls. i cant think of a way to hang the wooden jambs (na matibay and pagkakabit).
