Re: building permit for a garage

Unless you are planning to put up a business out of it where you need a business permit from city hall, dont bother yourself with building permit.

I got myself an additional 1-bedroom house beside my main house for almost 20 years now, and i didnt get a building permit for it.

Re: building permit for a garage

good day i live in quezon city and im planning on building a detached 5x6m garage. and my material of choice is light gauge steel frame and long span or GI sheet for walls and roof . similar to these kits available abroad.

do i need a building permit for this? i mean garahe lang naman siya diba and mga 30sqm lang naman. and the materials are pretty light weight

As I remember once.. The inspector said, only concrete structure more than 5 hollowblocks should have a permit..Since your planning for steel, which is more flexible, and easily detachable.. perhaps it could pass. Just get a local clearance from the barangay, that's what I usually do, and post a copy on the build site.

how do we get a local clearance from a barangay? baka, we will be referred back to City Hall or OBO for an actual building permit. Anwyays, any update on this TS? 😉
