Hi,
I am new to this site, am medium knowledge of computers 🙂
I am preparing for the summer heat & have been searching for ways to insulate an existing wall facing west (hence exposed to afternoon sun)
I need to insulate 1st to save energy and 2) muffle a bit the neighbor's noise
I came across website of Macro Industrial who distributes buildblock insulated concrete forms.
Insulating wall is not a normal practice in our country. I checked YouTube videos and they seen to be easy to do ie adhesive a styro to an existing wall, put a wiremesh and re-finish with cement and glue.
But, I am not sure if that is that simple and if the usual Filipino worker can do it.
I am curious if anyone has already tried insulating walls. From internet, saw that big malls insulate their walls to save energy.
Also has anyone tried ICFs (Insulated Concrete Forms)?
How costly per meter, is it durable, does it crack
Has anyone tried insulating an existing wall from the outside, putting styro and and refinishing with glue, etc.?
Many thanks, greatly appreciate any help I can get.
