I need your advice. Since Hardiflex does not manufacture the 3/4 inch boards for the floor at the moment, a representative from that company suggested that I use 12mm and 4.5mm placed on top of the former attached with Apo Vynil Adhesive. Has anyone here done this? Kindly give your comments please. Thanks.

Hardiflex is not the only FIBERCEMENT board brand available. FLEXBOARD, w/c is owned by ETERTON sells 3/4" or 18mm boards. I happen to use this size for my floor substrate installations like wooden planks. You may reach them at 5327021 to 27 or visit their office at 725 F. Blumentrit Extension Hulo, Mandaluyong City. Hope this helps!:plane:

Tanong ko lang, hindi ba nagiging brittle ang mga fibercement boards? Gagamitin ko kasi sa loft, na pagpapatungan ng mga beds and other furniture.

Re: Hardiflex Roofing

I think i lost my reply here this morning but here it is again. No problem with the brittleness happening as long as the boards are not exposed to prolonged hi temperatures 50 degrees Celsius and up. More worried about the load or weight factor of structure as 18mm FLEXBOARD usually take 4 people to carry. Kindly check with your consultant regarding your interest to use this material. Happy vacation!:)

Re: Hardiflex Flooring System

I personally think Flexboard is much sturdier than Hardiflex, based on my experience when I had my son's room installed some ceiling. Hardiflex is more brittle so be careful not to accidentally drop them specially the corners.

Now for your purpose, I am not updated now on these products if now they have the 3/4" thick fibercement, I have encountered only 1/2" thick Hardiflex known as Hadisenepa which is 10" wide and 8ft in length. Maybe as sir willy Fernando suggested, you can use it as substrate only, then your finished wood planks on top.

Hope you find the right thickness of fibercement for your purpose, kaya lang baka mas hahal yan at mas mabigat compared to ordinary 1/2" or 3/4" plywood or plyboard.

GOOD LUCK bro !!!

On what O.C. spacing of floor joists?.
If the OEM recommendation is 0.60 maximum using the real thing, you
could be running the risk of some delamination (at/near the glue plane)
if you exceed 0.40 spacing... at which point you'll have lost a lot of the
cost margin that keeps ficem boards competitive vs. traditional T&G on
wood joists.

You might be better served finding some other provider of proper, full-
thickness ficem floor boards, than trying to home-brew your own out of
thinner panels... and I've heard only good things about the vendor and
product mentioned by willy f.

Re: Hardiflex Roofing

interesting.. im just wondering, now if the issue is being brittle, would it make sense to use 3/4 PLYWOOD instead, then finish it of with laminated wood flooring, some sell for 700/sq.m installed
