I'm doing a drywall using gypsum board. The sides are easy to tape (mesh) and putty because the board has tapered edges to accommodate the tape.

How do you do the top and bottom sides since they don't have tapered edges? On youtube and foreign sites/forums, they recommend using PAPER TAPE for the joints, but I've looked everywhere and can't find it. I don't want to use the mesh tape because it will bulge. Painters are recommending polytuff (polyester filler), but won't that crack also because it's not flexible?

I would like to try Elastomeric Putty, which is recommended for cracks on concrete, and since it's elastomeric, it has a certain stretch or flexibility to resist (I'm assuming) cracking. Would this work?

BTW, what kind of putty do you use? Cheapest I've seen are Boysen Gypsum Putty, but the painters are insisting on using BORAL POWDER. They claim it dries easier, but what about the quality? I don't want to do shortcuts and realize in a year that I will have to repaint everything again.

Your drywall and ceiling is made of gypsum board. Used only gypsum putty. I prefer Boral Premix gypsum putty since timplado na siya. I used either paper tape or mesh tape.

Sa installation ng gypsum board I always leave a 1/8" (3mm) gap between board.

Eto yung tumitigas pag binasa diba?

You can also try to put ceiling trim.
