Re: LED Lighting System
Ako rin, bad experience.
I put one strip at the back of the room, not glued yet, just laid on the floor to test it. Niwanan kong naka-on overnight. Next day it's dead.
I have another unused one and now I don't know if I still want to use it. I don't want to glue it only to have to remove it later. Sayang, wala nang warranty.
In my case sir, pwede ko pa sya I recycle. You will notice that it has segments with 3 LEDS per segment. Each segment can be cut with a scissor and if given its own supply of 12 volts, will function "stand alone"
Right now I use it as ambient lighting for my computer keyboard (I get 12volts from the computer) and lighting for our new aquarium (installed a new power supply). Meron pang unused na mga 1 meter.
Pwede pa yan sa Xmas tree or some temporary use na kahit pumalpak di masyado abala.
Use colored pentel pen for the desired "mood".
Share ko na rin video nung aquarium

The aquarium is only 5" thick and serves as divider sa kitchen & dining.

Re: LED Lighting System
Got a roll of 5mm LED light strip from CDR King several months ago. Installed them this morning. Here it is:
It's the string of irregular white dots lining the beam near the ceiling of my workshop. First time I used it and about half the lights would not come on. Some of them flicker.
Re: LED Lighting System
My statistics for CD-R King brand of LEDs (1 yr warranty): Of 6 lights of various wattages installed, 4 failed within the first few months.
The warranty period being offered for the various LED brands sold in mall stores and Wilcon seem to be increasing over time (in general). For example, for brand X, initially 1 now 2 yr; or for brand Y, initially 1 then 2 then 3 now 5 yr; and so on. When the light fails, you are supposed to return it together with receipt to the particular store branch where you bought it. I have not yet encountered a store which can take returns at any branch.
Given the changing warranty periods within a brand, question is ... how does a store determine whether a defective light returned at some time in future is under warranty? Considering that there is no proof of warranty, and that the warranty period at time of purchase is not indicated on the receipt (except for CD-R King), on the bulb itself, or on the box (with exceptions, assuming you saved the box).
Does main office have detailed database that can look up warranty period given model number and purchase date? Or do they just rely on memory?
So far, one answer from an Ace 'supervisor' seemed to be ... somewhere between 'memory' and 'they are not that strict on warranty period' ... maybe even to the point of going by the warranty period in effect at the time of return, rather than at the time of purchase.
Anyone tried asking this question? (First hurdle is to find someone at a store who can comprehend the question. Most front liners cannot.)
Re: LED Lighting System
Finally got to discuss this with a branch manager who heartily agreed that the whole situation with LED warranties is a mess.
-- Sometimes inconsistent warranty periods between branches, and sometimes even between promodisers in the same branch. One cause of discrepancy, among others, is the practice of some branches or promodisers of "giving" a longer warranty than what is currently in effect, to make a sale, especially if customer is insistent and/or is buying in bulk. For example, for one brand, giving 3 yr instead of the official 2 yr. For another brand, giving 5 yr instead of the official 3 yr. However, no written proof is usually given; it is just a verbal agreement. (Obvious problems with this arrangement.) The practice is allegedly known about and condoned by the manufacturers involved.
-- No proof of warranty (except for the rare few brands that specify the warranty period on the box or receipt). A problem when warranty periods are continually changing.
-- No written/posted info on warranty period in the store. All by word of mouth from manufacturer to promodiser. Floor sales people (other than promodiser) are one more step removed, so even less reliable. They often do not know and guess, or rely on possibly outdated memory/hearsay, or have to ask promodiser who is not always present.
The solutions to some of these problems are so simple and obvious, but for some reason...
Anyway, manager said he would take these issues up.

Yeah, " need more tools . . . ", "need more tools . . . . ". 😀
Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.
Re: LED Lighting System
Hehehe... agree dyan mga Sir 😀
Yes palpak nga itong LED strip ng CDR king. Busted na rin yung power supply ko and after replacing with a new power supply, a few segments have already failed.
As far as LED light bulbs, OK naman ang performance sa akin
except:
3watts with a green tip. This model seems to be poorly manufactured. My impression is CDR King gets its supply from many manufacturers.
I formed this opinion kasi kinakalikot ko yung loob and I find varying styles and quality inside.
They do honor the warranty kaya lang in my case, I usually break the seal para kalikutin sa loob 😀
My present policy nowadays is kapag meron kelangan palitan na CFL bulb, I just buy a lower wattage CDR King LED bulb. For a 20 watts CFL , I replace it with a 7 watt LED bulb.

Re: LED Lighting System
iwas na ako sa CDR King LEDs bulb, naka ilang return na ako on their 3W and 7W.
Re: LED Lighting System
These bulbs are powered by my off-grid solar system.

Congrats on using solar power Sir.
Magkano naman per bulb Sir? What wattage of bulb do you use?

5W (equivalent to 40W) yong mga gamit kong LED.

That is the right decision since commercial use naman.
Pero alam naman natin yung "tingi" mentality : konting gastos sa konting quantity like the shampoo sachet or in the case of CDR King - cheaper bulb = shorter life.
Good luck sa poultry business mo Sir.

Guys, any advice for a good light / bulb supplier?
Do we have a Panda of lights as well? Thanks in advance!
I have written a 55 page guide book on LED lighting expressly for the Philippines. It is on OLX or can be ordering from myself
