Hi Pinoyhandyman Community!

We're nearing the completion of our residential project, and we're about to plan on the furnishing/finishing. We've decided to have our kitchen done by specialists, and would greatly appreciate inputs from experts here.

1. We're planning to have a kitchen similiar to this (image below), im not sure if this is what you call a "modular kitchen", but our specifications would be overhead cabinets, sink, stove and a breakfast nook. Modern / minimalist theme is the preference.

2. For specifications above, whats' the expected price range?

3. Visited a few shops, (will visit more soon), most of them are using "finger jointed" wood. Would it be better to use solid wood, or would finger jointed be more practical or durable as well?

4. Lastly can you recommend a good kitchen maker in Cebu Area in terms of price and worksmanship?

thank you very much!

Sir ,
You can get in touch with sir Bryant77 , he is the resident guru when it comes to modular cabinets and such , we are always amazed in his designs and works

You can try to search the threads about this.

hey bro!

you mentioned about finger jointed wood...this is even better because it is still solid wood and not plywood...they are glued anyway.
but your design in the picture dont show any solid wood. they are practically plastic laminated!
i am also building my brothers house and we are already in the kitchen. i suggested a modern but still with an "old" touch. we will use corian countertop, plywood base cabinets with solid wood doors, overhang cabinets will be plywood (carcass) but the doors will be solid wood too.
We will be using tandem Blum motion drawer glides for the cabinet doors and blum concealed hinges for the drawers for longevity.
if you are going to use the best of the best in hardwares for cabinetry, you can spend about 20-40K pesos for them alone in a busy U shaped or L-shaped kitchen. They are notoriously expensive but you get what you paid for. I am not sure if you have a local distriubutor of Blum hardwares but in mania we have. You can try visit blum's website.
Talk to several fabricators in your area and ask for a quote but insists on your specifications.
I cannot say more about Bryant and he has a lot of experience in this type of finished works... a laminate specialist imho so lets wait for him to comment but he is based in Manila.

good luck!

also take the time to think about the ref, oven, fume hood so the builders will harmonize them in the project...they come in different shapes and sizes which further complicate the scene!
