Re: Modular Pod Homes
thats a nice house, where is that one located? im interested to see the details of the materials used.plus just from the build you can already get a lot of knowledge

@ Ka ernie di ko alam kung saan yan but it's already habitable. I'll post the pix pag nahanap ko yung finish product.:)
Re: Modular Pod Homes
@ Ka ernie, heto yung kinalabasan nung gawang light steel gauge at fiber cemen board. Ang ganda di b.:)
Re: Modular Pod Homes
@ ocanursjr,
Hey bro, was this structure build locally or somewhere in those exclusive subdivisions or you just got it from the internet. ???
The newly built house looks so beautiful but my concern here really is how sturdy the structural skeletons are plus the fiber cement paneling, how tough are those panelings since we all know that this kinds are somewhat brittle unless they used a very thick panels. How about earth quakes, will the light gauge metal framing hold ?
Well I guess I have to educate myself more regarding this new type of building structure, really very interesting. 😉

Re: Modular Pod Homes
Thanks @ Ka rosy
It was locally build somewhere in the Philippines but I haven't got a clue where is it? Yes, I got it from the internet. You can try browsing their website, its actually interesting. Here's the website for more info. http://www.scottsdalesteelframes.com/gallery/residential-projects1/
Honestly, our local steel manufacturer Jea Steel Industries offers same kind of services.
Re: Modular Pod Homes
Thanks bro ocanursjr for the link, really very interesting indeed, I think they were using aluminum studs and they can assemble it very quickly. Correct me if I am wrong here.
Anyway I watch several videos on the link you posted, ang galing bro, parang rivets lang gamit nila sa pag gawqa ng frame skeletons. Here is the link of the videos, maybe bro ernie_serrano will enjoy watching them videos too !!! ;):)

Re: Modular Pod Homes
@ Ka rosy hindi ko alam kung aluminum studs yung ginagamit nila. I haven't came across with metal components. Kayang kaya ng local steel manufacturer natin ito like Jea, Philmetal, Puyat etc.:)
I watched some of the videos, talagang very interesting.:thanks:
Re: Modular Pod Homes
galing ng assembly line nila. will post some pics of some of my builds one time. maybe nex week pag balik ko from Tanay

Sige Ka ernie, lets see your masterpiece.:)
Re: Modular Pod Homes
its not master piece, the reason why i tried it is just to prove a point na "it can Be Done, and it will stand the elements" thats house sa pic, thats a masterpiece. if its local and if they didnt use the JEA brand materials, in a few months there will be rust stains na all over. specially the corners. i tried mixing materials in one show room i built sa may ADB ave, in a few months, materials that im sure are not from JEA started showing rust stains na agad and goes thru the cement board. the JEA still stands and still no signs of rust seeping thru the cement board, il demolish my house in maybe in 2 to 3 years time, then il see how much stress the steel frame can take.
next experiment is to build one sa tanay. up in the mountains, the moisture level there is much much more plus lakas pa ng wind, to test stress levels din

Re: Modular Pod Homes
Definitely it can be done.:) I remember Habitat for Humanity used this light gauge steel framing and fibre cement board for mass housing project.
Rich nation like the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand and the Euro Zone etc...is not new with this technology. I'm interested with this tech kaya I will be waiting for your photos Ka ernie. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Talagang gusto kong magkaroon nitong modular pad that I can enjoy staying somewhere in the hills of Antipolo.:thanks:
Re: Modular Pod Homes
isa sa question dyan is if Habitat for Humanity was doing t before, is it still being done now or did they abandon this system? next if they did abandon it, WHY? then if they are still doing it now, How are the units DOING?

Re: Modular Pod Homes
As far as I know they completed the Project in Baseco Compound. It was featured in ABS CBN hosted by Karen Davila sometime ago. But if you visit their website they are more concentrated with their own CIB (Concrete Interlocking Brick) which was developed by Bernard Levebre of Habitech International which the company is base in Thailand.:)
Re: Modular Pod Homes
yun nga, baka kasi the cost in terms of long term out look is almost the same as using the steel frame kung maliliit lang na units ang ginagawa. so far kasi this tech is good for interior spaces, with this system kasi you can greatly reduce the structural load bearing design of a building cause of the lesser dead load ng walls. pag bungalow small units it might still be cheaper but yung flimsiness of the walls that divide the units (row Houses) becomes and issue.
