Hi guys,
I'm new here and looking for some advise please. I want to renovate the place my wife and I will be staying when I get to the Philippines and make our room more soundproof. I don't need help with the soundproofing, but I would like to know if the hardware stores in the Philippines has pine 2x4's like in the west at a good price or is there another wood you use to build things like stud walls? I'm not from the Philippines and I have no experience with hardware stores there. I have been googling, but its been hard to find any information and non of my emails are being returned from the hardware store. If there is a good quality wood like pine you would recommend that wont cost an arm and a leg I would love to hear about it.
Lots of 2x4 pines in larger hardware stores (e.g. Wilcon). I am planning to build my workshop using them.
There are two types: treated and untreated. I plan to use untreated then just spray anti-termite.
What you may find hard to find would be the nail gun and corresponding collated nails. I had to order mine from abroad.
You're probably better off using a local wood species rather than pine. Pine is usually more expensive than the local tanguile 2x4's at your hardware store. Recently, at my local All Home home center (Antipolo City) i saw some untreated pine lumber that's priced reasonably. Yeah you might want to try going to an All Home branch if one is near you.

The hardware store I know in Antipolo (Vega on Sumulong) sells pine wood cheaper than tanguile so I decided on pine for my next project. I also find pine a lot straighter. Where is the AllHome in Antipolo?
