Hi,
My garage is sloping and I don't like it. I got plans of changing the existing tiles so it might be worth levelling it the way i wanted it to be. I may still leave a little slope though - 1 degree perhaps, still deciding.
First step is easy - blow away the existing tiles and remove the remaining adhesive until the concrete is exposed.
The million dollar question now is, how do you raise an existing concrete floor? What materials are needed? Does this require a special kind of cement? Do I need steel reinforcement? What aggregates?
BTW, I won't be doing this alone and will be hiring a worker to work with me (in the interest of time). They worker may know what's needed, but I prefer getting further info, like a second opinion.

How deep is the slope of the garage flooring if you will base leveling the surface coming from the highest portion of the garage up to the edge of the lowest portion. ??

By eye, i need to raise 3 corners by 6", 4", and 1" - yes, nasty slope!

Hope you don't mind me asking but were you the one who inquired before about the kind of materials for your garage roofing on your driveway or is it someone else ? I am asking this question so that I can relate the existing set up of your intended garage flooring (the make over). Is it a one car garage or a two car garage ?

OK sorry about that confusion bro ! I think its the query of fourtheboys96.
To answer you question, there will have to be some preparation in raising your concrete flooring and you have mentioned already the first step, stripping the existing tiles and exposing the top concrete base. You will have to roughen the exposed concrete surface so that the new cement that will be poured will somehow be absorbed by the rough surface thus giving also the drying cement to have a grip on the existing surface. How does one roughen the surface ? Making "tiktik" with a sharp pointed chisel but this take so long but if it was me whose going to do it , I will use a heavy duty angle grinder fitted with a diamond blade for concrete and will start running the surface with the blade and sort of making grids on the concrete surface about 4" or 6" apart so that I can easily chip off the surface with an SDS plus flat chisel mounted on a rotary hammer.
Then after roughing up the surface, you will have to reinforce 10 mm or 12 mm corrugated steel bars but may I suggest embedding some steel bar studs on the concrete surface placed in some intersections of the corrugated steel bars. This is a personal choice so that the reinforcing steel bars can be tied up to the studs and thus preventing movement of the whole steel reinforcement. Yung pagitan ng mga steel bars, alam na ng kukunin mong kantero yan.
Now after all these preps, you can now pour concrete on the surface. No special kind of cement, just use the portland cement with the correct water/aggregate/cement mixture. Gamitin mo yung size 1/4" graba, standard and available in hardware stores selling cements and aggregates.

for additional info, how will it change if i do it the other way around? that is to bring down my high point lower? instead of me raising 3 corners by 6, 4, and 1, I'll bring them down instead.
for sure there's a mesh underneath the existing concrete and surely this will be cut to bring the corners down to a level - how will this affect the overall structure of the surroundings and the ground underneath? what will the approach be if this were to be done?

WOW !! By doing so, the reverse approach, you added and made the task more complicated but yes it can be done. It will take more time and money in terms of labor for the workers. I would presume the thickness of your concrete flooring is 4"or 5" thick with steel bars reinforcement in the middle of the concrete slab.
Mahirap bro mag tibag or mag basag ng solid slab specially with steel reinforcement inside unless you have the necessary equipment like a jack hammer, large maso or a heavy duty multi function rotary hammer. 😮 It is easier to do concrete toppings compared to the removal of the concrete slab and removal of extra soil to achieve a level ground surface. Ganun din ang gagawin, babakalan at lalagyan ng concrete slab sa ibabaw.
Can you by any chance post a picture or illustration of your existing garage/flooring area for easy understanding and visualization ?

If you're going to raise the garage floor, you need the consider the approach angle (slope) from the road going to garage. If you have a car pwedeng sumabit yun front bumber unless your vehicles are SUV.
Normally 10mm diameter rebars ang ginagamit spaced 300mm on-center bothways. If you raised the 3 corners by 6",4" and 1" maari ka magkaproblema sa portion going to 1" kse manipis na yun concrete. Magcrack yan pagtumagal. Lalo na paghindi maganda kapit ng new concrete sa old.
Option 1 - Tibagin ang floor ng garage, then panibagong buhos ng concrete (4" thick) with reinforcement bars.
Option 2 - Raising the garage 9", 7" and 4", then panibagong buhos ng concrete (4" thick) with reinforcement bars. Yun portion ng 9" and 7" pwede naman compacted soil yun ilalim ng 4" concrete.

the one towards the end of the gate will be raised. now I'm thinking, chip the end where i currently stand enough to expose the steel frame and tie the new frame there before the pour.
one of the prep work that i see is to either raise the gate or cut the lower portion and relocate it to where the sheet metal is.
