Good day. Newbie po here, pinarenovate ko po ang store ko everything is almost done except po sa Truss and Purlins (Roof Framing) and installation ng yero. Ang quotation sakin for labor is 5,000 for the installation ng yero at roof framing. Tama lang kaya ang labor cost? Totally no idea po kasi ako talaga sa construction and labor cost. Ang size po ng store ko is 23'x13'.

No idea either, but I can add to your questions. 🙂

Would it be better and cheaper to use wood trusses (prefabricated, with metal plate connectors) instead of steel trusses? For example, Matimco makes truss roofing components under the brand name 'TrussWood':
http://www.matimco.com/

Here is a webpage that compares wood vs. steel trusses:
http://www.oregontruss.com/truss-info/applications/wood-vs-steel
According to this, wood could be cheaper, perform better in a fire, outlast steel, have lower carbon cost, and, if exposed, could look better and be part of the interior design.

Has anyone looked into Matimco TrussWood and done comparison vs. steel?

Re: Roof framing & Installation labor cost

pag labor ask how many days and how many workers will it take to install the roof. usually in a room that big you only need 2 carpenters and 1 helper. A good carpenter might charge 500/day, apprentice around 350/day while a labor will be around 250/day.

Re: Roof framing & Installation labor cost

Several months ago I had some carpentry work done on our auto shop. It was not roofing but walling. I remember the head carpenter pay was also 500 pesos per day and the helper was 250 pesos per day. However I provided power tools so the job was done quickly and at a much much lesser time and cost than was quoted me by a contractor.

Re: Roof framing & Installation labor cost

Two to three carpenters are enough for your work. They charge 500 to 600 per day, it depends on your area of work.
You can use steel trusses too.You should first consult with two to three carpenters before taking decision.
