last week i started installing a small solar power set up in our tanay house. of course the Mrs was happy, but we would still love to have the place as an Off-the-Grid hideout kaya it will seldom be used . only for short hours at night preparing dinner and cleaning up after. then its lights out, take a mat outside and lie down looking at the stars while earphones whispersoft music in your ears.

this is how our typical tanay break goes. we will be going up again this weekend to add more lights sa kitchan area. il take pictures of how things are there (last week kasi it was raining while we were installing the panels) no pictures were taken.

il post din some of the light fixtures i made for the place. i bought some LED light fixtures na cheap and syempre, maaarte tayong mga PHM so i cant just install it without adding our touch.

Inspite of the rain, it is still worthless without pics. 😀

Bro ernie_serrano,

I will subscribe on this thread and would love to see pics of your current project located in the Tanay mountains. I will be waiting for your posts in the coming days.

Congratulations for the realization of your dream getaway / vacation house, I can just visualize the peacefulness of your place with probably plenty of trees all around and lots of ornamental and decorative plants around the house. Plus you will only hear chipping of birds every where and at nights, just the noise of the crickets or sekadas and the sounds of frogs, answering the calls of other frogs nearby. :p 😀

Bro enjoy the fresh air in your place and thank God for the blessings !!!

WOW bro ang lawak ng property mo, hanggang tip of the mountain ba ang nasasakupan mo based on the first picture ??

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

surprisingly wala lamok, siguro cause every 2nd week end lang naman kami nandun, di na nasanay lamok na may makakagat sila dun. its a 2 hec property which is from the national road going in, the hill is ours the view is a gift ika nga. here is view of how it is when standing in front of the house. maybe next year or 2 years it will be time to build another house on top of the hill..

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

do you consider installing a wind generator?
looks like this kind of place may have enough wind to power a small wind generator.

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

here is the picture of the solar panels, its just a 10watt panel one on each side, so thats 20 watts of solar gathering power. it will take 2 days at the most to fully charge my old used car batteries that i left there. tamang tama for use every weekend when we are there. i chose to install a small panel para low key lang, i still have to conform with the surrounding, not to be too showy na mapag isipan ng masama, low key as we say.
