Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

here is syempre a wood wpork piece that i did for some of the light fixtures sa house, i didnt want to buy a ready made one na i have to rig to replace whats inside to suit my needs.

and here it is zoomed out, the shells are from our caretaker, we would really want to take it out kaya lang she is sensitive, baka mapahiya

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

this one is a picture taken outside, it was raining and i had to put the Iphone inside a clear plastic to take this picture. more comfy but still, we dont have the lights on all night para we still get to experience that off the grid thing, but the lights do help a lot in preparing good meals and enjoying the meals, after that its lights out. lights can stay on if you really want to, can start from 9 am till 7am na naka On with music pa. (i rigged din a computer amplified speakers for 12 volts set up, so when we are there all we have to do is turn it ON then plug the MP3 player we have with us then theres music na

will be going back on sunday to build one bedroom and haul out all the sobrang materials left sa house so that our caretaker can do the final cleaning na of the place.

Nice work Ernie.

Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

Paano sa gabi Ernie, wala nang need for electric fan dahil mahangin na? How far is your car from your batcave?

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

was never a need for a fan boss jarod, in fact kahapon i was looking at a coleman heater sa HMR. malamig even summer. i got the isuzu pick up 4x4 specifically for this place, we use to drive the benz to the farm pero i have to leave it sa side lang ng national road then walk up to the house which is a good 200mtr up with all the load to carry. una nga may cart pa kami dala with crate para lang di masyado mahirapan, but with the rough road going up, yung crate o kung san san side bumabagsak sa aking trolley, il still end up carrying it aftera few mtrs. now solve na yun. and since pa konti konti naayos ko na bahay, we only need to bring food and drinking water nalang with us pag panik dun. its our OFF the Grid hideaway. wala talaga signal ng phone, wala water , wala kuryente from 5 km down the road and 3 km up the road. water is from the Bureauof Soil na Batis which they put a hose pababa to the community

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

its me and my wifes HEAVEN on EARTH. last sunday it was raining so hard, whe sat on the bridge while it was raining looking at the malakas na flow ng water under the bridge. sobrang sarap. even my 2 construction workers are always excited when i tell them na sasama ko sila sa tanay. they work their ass off there but they are always smiling., always looking forward to the coffee kwentuhan we always have up sa hill at the end of the day. they are looking forward to this sunday, for sure they expect heavy work there , nakakatuwa is the part that they are always excited to see kung ano kinabit ko last week. haaayyyyzz... that place is a happy place talaga

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

hahaha!! pag nag EB dito dapat overnight. sa shop nga lang ni Timber na nasa gitna nating lahat di pa tayo maka kumpleto ng members eh. this mountain spot is exactly 48km away from the garage ng bahay namin sa fairview. NOT bad at all. para ka lang nag 1 way trip to tagaytay. 48km to heaven. yung road leading up to the place palang ULAM na pare, the view, sawsawan!!

may portable ako camping stove that we use sa gitna ng table habang kumakain para mainit na mainit lagi ang higop na sabaw. pag wala stove di ka pa tapos kumain nag sesebo na bulalo mo sa lamig!

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

It will really take some sacrifice for other members from Manila to trek to bro Ernie,s place in Tanay. The same thing with us that leave very far from Timb's shop, we do exercise some sacrifice to be there if we can, traversing the traffics of EDSA or the CUBAO/Aurora Blvd Ave. for 2 hours or so.

But really the place of bro Ernie is truly a nice place for an EB, very quite, secluded and plenty of fresh air plus all greens around, hehehehe, KELAN KAYA MANGYAYARI and EB dyan ? hay sarap mag camping siguro dyan bro Ernie !!!!

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

HI there bro ernie_serrano,

Brad, hope walang nangyaring damage sa hide out mo sa Tanay due to the continuous rain and some strong winds we experienced last week. Sorry din bro you have to take the long way going to your Tanay house, from the news last week eh 50 meters or so ang na washed out na kalye sa may baranggay Boso boso in Cogeo, Antipolo. 🙁

Really hope everything is ok there !!! 😉
