Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

hi rosy,
thanks for asking, YES, ok naman dun, ourcaretaker called lang na may leak ako dun sa kisame, i think its from the solar panel screws we installed, di kasi kami nakapag seal ng mga screw cause it was raining when we installed it. sana next week ok ang weather kasi talagang bugnot na bugnot na ako if di nakaka recharge ng mind when staying long sa manila. sabi ni Martin from MMDA nakaka daan naman daw sa area na nag landslide pero one way lang.

sana the roads will go back to the old napaka gandang road leading up to the mountains. the road works there are being done by funds from cong romeo acop. he has his banners all over the place, nag back fire nga kasi now the residents are blaming his contractor na sinarado daw yung culvert

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

last week i started installing a small solar power set up in our tanay house. of course the Mrs was happy, but we would still love to have the place as an Off-the-Grid hideout kaya it will seldom be used . only for short hours at night preparing dinner and cleaning up after. then its lights out, take a mat outside and lie down looking at the stars while earphones whispersoft music in your ears.

this is how our typical tanay break goes. we will be going up again this weekend to add more lights sa kitchan area. il take pictures of how things are there (last week kasi it was raining while we were installing the panels) no pictures were taken.

il post din some of the light fixtures i made for the place. i bought some LED light fixtures na cheap and syempre, maaarte tayong mga PHM so i cant just install it without adding our touch.

do you guys stay in Sampalok? I have a farm house there off the grid too 🙂

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

EDTF, me and my wife live near La mesa Eco park Fairview, but on weekends we go up to Sampaloc, we just started working on it last december 2011. so madami pa kailangan gawin sa place pa konti konti. we are located 1.8km away from the Farm ni Gov Ynares, the ones with fighting Cocks. san ka dun?

whats the set up na sa Farm mo? im not a farmer but a carpenter by heart but would love to learn from the experienced ones.

where there is your place? baka when we are up we can set a visit, ihaw ihaw

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

Me and wife were at Ernie and wife May's hide away property yesterday in Cuyambay, Tanay, also with bro joey81 and family plus other friends of the host, we had ihaw ihaw and gatang laing for lunch plus the very fresh air and the awesome and fantastic view of the mountain ranges all around. Such a wonderful place to unwind, to be with nature, to contemplate and relax. The cold or nippy blowing winds coming from all directions never ceases, you'll just feel like sleeping the whole day there, no wonder bro Ernie and May love being there on weekends to unwind, away from the hassles and buzzles of the concrete jungle in the city.

For the host, bro Ernie and May, thank you for that fantastic experience !!!:clap1::2thumbsup::groupwave:

This pic was taken when we went up at almost the top of the property, it was almost 3pm and you just can't feel the hot sun due to the cold winds blowing everywhere !!!

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

12v din naman ata ang mga loads mo. Have you seen you mga windmill that is made of 1/2 drum? Kung malakas ang hangin sa inyo, that might be a good option. Or yun water turbine kung may free flowing creek malapit.

Naku sorry. Kinda matagal na yun. Mga 4 years ago na kasi. Though the trick sa windmill is, use small bearings para less ang resistance kapag uikot.

Try mo din yun mga LED lights na pang auto. Daming available na and maliwanag. 3rd and 4th gen lights. Puro 12v pa. Pwede din alarm ng auto. You can also use HID lights for your perimeter lights. 35 watts lang. May mga 3w LED din na pambahay na direct replacement sa 12v halogen lights pambahay.

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

Congrats sa mountain hideaway mo Sir Ernie!

Baka makatulong sa thread na ito:

Medyo halo na ito sa LED lighting since LEDs are very efficient and are a good match to solar power source.

As a study, I recently bought this item:

http://www.cdrking.com/index.php?mod=products&type=view&sid=15830&main=167

Price is 1,380 petot.

The solar panel sends down about 9volts from the solar panel at 300ma to charge the 2200mAH power bank.

Based on my experience, it gets fully charged during the day but a full charge will supply a USB fan for only 4 hours and I estimate the 2 included bulbs will last only 6 hours.

I plan to have it charge a 6volt battery of higher capacity. Maybe the power bank I posted on another thread.

The video below shows a comparison of the illumination of a 9watt CFL on my kitchen counter vs the 2X1watt LED included with the kit:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0wYZBt109w

Hindi ko pa ma afford nor kailangan yung mga malalaki na solar array dahil mostly constant naman ang supply ng electrcity dito sa amin.

My aim in trying LED and solar products is to get a first hand education in this new technology and also to support these eco-friendly products. The more we buy, the more they will produce. The more they produce, the lower the price will be.

Kung sakali man na they are not as durable as US, Japan or European made, salamat na rin at kahit papaano ang ordinaryong kolokoy na tulad ko kayang makabili at masubukan man lang ang bagong technology na ganito.

Just...[COLOR="Red"]DRILL IT!

Re: Solar power Set-up in our Mountain house

im not sure if pwede to, but if i had that set up what il do is hook the ends to a car battery, im sure mas matagal ang gamit ng lights, i use 3 old car batteries in my set up and it lasts the whole night naman.but then me and my wife only go up sa mountain rest house pag week ends
