Re: Tiles brand

i dont think you will get a definite answer here.

BAscially philippines now has a regulation that tiles have to have a certain standard. I think compressive and tensile strength. If any sort of tile does not pass the standard then it is not allowed to be sold. So when it comes to durability dont worry.

in a nutshell. Italian tiles are top notch, followed by spanish, then indonesian tiles. China tile are a bit complicated to rank. because brands like Lola (wilcon) and sol ceramica (wilcon depot has this also) can pit against spanish quality. These two brands are the ones i used in my house. I also have other spanish tiles scattered in the house. All of which i think i got from wilcon since they have a good assortment from budget to luxury (tinitigan ko nalang hehehe)

So to be honest you have to come down to budget and design. and remember ALWAYS use TILE ADHESIVE not cement (i learned the hard way) Tile adhesives are formulated specifically to hold something to the wall... cements are not. if using cement and it did not cure long enough it will eventually let go of the tile (you dont want this on your wall) while tile adhesives are very much forgiving and will ensure that your tile will stick to the wall for a lifetime. and and with cement... you can crack your tile over time.

Re: Tiles brand

If you will be installing granite tiles, especially those that are made in China, it would be better to use tile adhesive. Otherwise, after a few months, you will feel some tiles moving already.

For ceramic tiles, cement will do but tile adhesive is still better.

But whether your carpenter is using cement or tile adhesive, supervising their work is still very important. Tiles usually breaks or peels off easily when not installed properly.

Re: Tiles brand

sorry for being out of topic here... just want to ask if there are other colors available to be used to color a flooring. I think they call it colored cement. mostly the stores i ask the only available color is green or red.
Is it ok to paint your floor with rubberized paint so that you can have the color you want for your floor. thanks.
and sorry again if im out of topic.

Re: Tiles brand

yes tumatagal... matagal... granites regardless of its origin will last pretty much forever (natural granites)

but these have to be sealed with masonry sealer to keep its appearance top notch. Sealing has to be re done every few years or so. More often if outdoors

Re: Tiles brand

if on a budget go for the local tiles like mariwasa and eurotiles. just make a pattern or motif to make it nice. get a 30x30 size or bigger cuz mas impressive.

if may budget ng kaunti go to mc and ortigas home depot, wilcon, kuysen, dexterton. they usually have good quality tiles on sale but limited quantity...so ok lang if your requirement not so much.

if sky is the limit go to decimal, prime, home studio, goldkeys, grupo armani...marami pa that escapes my memory.

floor center if you like cheap good looking tiles but in terms of quality not all tiles are ok.

For me Porcelain or Ceramic Tile. Porcelain tile is the best of all worlds for bathroom flooring, as it is waterproof, stylish, and cost-effective. When choosing the best flooring for your bathroom, it's important to consider your style, budget, and lifestyle.
