thanks for the reply, another questions: Some say its cheaper to get the bigger tile because it covers more area. is there an easy way to compare price of a .3m and a .6 m tile for a given area?

Thanks for your patience, mahina ako sa math 🙂

Call me old fashioned but I like wood for most floors so narra parque is my first choice. Tiles are as you said durable but most important for me is that they are waterproof. Consider however that tiles are generally slippery when wet. Actually even the "rough" finish ones can also be deceptively slippery.

As for calculating cost, sometimes tile stores show the "per square meter" cost. I would not bet on it though so just bring a calculator.

In comparing 30x30 tiles as against 60x60 tiles just multiply by four the price of the 30x30. Divide by four to have it the other way around.

Re: value for money living/dining rm floor: is 12" ceramic tiles the best option?

I tried to compute it like this :

a .3m tile or (12 inches) would take 9 to cover a square meter right? and a .6 would take 4 pcs to cover 1.2 sqm (then I guess 3 pcs to cover a sqm if you cut the tile?) so comparing a .3 ceramic tile @ P 60 would cover my 1 sqm (9 tiles) with 540 pesos and .6 @ P 130 also P540 (using 4 tiles) .

tama ba?

Nope! 9 pieces of .3m tiles would only cover .9sqm. you will approximately need 10.75 pcs of .3m tiles to cover a square meter.
