Hi guys, would anyone of you have an idea where to get snap fasteners usually used on fabrics?

I need a kit with the appropriate press/dies at roughly 1cm diameter so I could fasten it on my own.

Re: Snap fastener

Divisoria most probably, not sure if Shell canvass has them.

Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

Re: Snap fastener

Yes. Divisoria it is.

When I was in high school, I made my own leather sandals and got all the snap fasteners, rivets, buckles, etc from shops in Divisoria. There were also some shops in T. Mapua in Sta. Cruz, near Recto.

Of course, I'm talking about shops I went to more than 30 years ago.

Re: Snap fastener

@joey: Haha, hindi naman. I am just working on a project that I am tired to sew (1 cm strips of fabric) so I guess using a fastener would be a faster and cleaner option.

@bigfoot2 & balarila: Thanks for the leads!

@timber: Tempting but very worried that I may come home with a different purchase 😀 (Game ka bukas? Haha!)

Re: Snap fastener

Just an update guys, since my deadline is Wednesday for this project, I already got some snap fasteners.

However, no snap tool is available so I need to improvise and I need suggestions badly due to the urgency.

Here are the actual tools needed:
A) Hole Puncher - easy to improvise
B) Button tool - pointed tool with a collar
- thinking of using a nail first then follow-up with an allen wrench
C) Nipple tool - recessed tool
- thinking of using a metal ballpen tip

Any other better suggestion? Thanks in advance!

To give you an idea on how the snap tool is used, you may refer to this BLOG

Re: Snap fastener

It was a wasted and tiring day if I may say. I woke up around 11am and thought that I might have time to go to Divisoria to find snap-ons but to my dismay after two hours of non-stop walking along Recto, Tutuban, Juan Luna and Ylaya luck as it seems was not on my side. Aside from being a Sunday, the stores I expected to carry these items are disappointing.

In the end, one lady in Ylaya told me to go back on n weekday in Tabora where the said fasteners could usually be bought.

Why do sometimes the items you wish urgently were the ones that were hard to find!? It makes business bad 😡

Re: Snap fastener

^Yup, I had some before but I got short on stocks. Last time I visited the store from where I bought some, there are no more supplies. Thus, I'm looking at Divisoria for more supply for the mean time.
