Re: Table Leveller?

sir new guy po ako sa website paano bah maki communicate sa inyo? dito ako sa abroad eh balak ko umuwi dyan para mag aral ng woodworking!

joyski, Introduce yourself in the member's introduction page and we'll roll from there :welcome:

Mukhang guilty!!! (Diatabs commercial) 😀

Planning to build a quick picnic table for the holidays that we can use on the deck with uneven tiles. I'd like to put one of those screw-things at the foot of table legs so I can adjust and make the table level on all 4+ legs.

Anyone know where I can get those?

Ninong Ding, I think both the techniques of Supervisor Joey and Tito Timber would work. If you would ask me, it would depend on the surface to where you will be resting it into. Tiimber's engineered elevator bolts are ok in solid surfaces. Unless you want you picnic table to be garden soil-adaptable (which I would suppose), I would go and with Joey's reverse-engineered idea and make extra large foot area that will be better in soil (or even in sand beach)

Or you may just go with the manufactured one and just add plywood when you want it in the garden with the rest of Antip's magnificent view 😉

Uy, malapit na pasko, dumadami na inaanak ko.

The table will be on a deck with simple Mariwasa tiles. I'm concerned if I used the bare hex head of a large bolt as leveller that it may crack the tiles. I'm sure I can figure something out as padding but just didn't want to spend the time on it.

Thanks.

Re: Table Leveller?

Planning to build a table with six legs. So para maraming extra, how about 20 pieces? Where do you live Joey, so I'd know where to pick up, just in case. Salamat!

Guad, yes, I actually considered TNuts as you drew. Just wanted to find something more "user friendly", I.e. no need for a wrench to adjust and easy on the floor.

BTW, didn't find them in home depots in Ortigas area, True Value, Ace, Wilcon, Handyman. Will try Kingbolt on Gil Fernando.

Makikininong na rin baka maambunan ng regalo.

.........I'm sure I can figure something out as padding.......

Thanks.

Ninong Ding, actually this is a good idea to simplify this task...sapinan na lang ng goma ang hex then trim the excess. Those round rubber pads with self-adhesives for chair furnitures are available at Handyman or at Japanese store inside the Malls.

Re: Table Leveller?

That is called an adjustable glider.

For a cheap solution to level your table you can download an app called "Leveler". very useful and accurate.

Two-axis accelerometer is correct.

It allows you to adjust until the acceleration in either horizontal direction becomes zero. You do not care about the third, vertical axis through the available devices provide that as well.

The fluid level idea - as used by builders in some circumstances - is logical, but unable to be implemented for a table - as it requires the hose to run below the apparatus.

The weight on the legs only matters if the table is on a non-rigid surface.
