The topic on the electronic ballasts made me remember an equally bad experience with electronic type transformers for the 12 volt, 50 watt quartz pinlights. I bought quite a few some years ago and most conked out in a matter of weeks. The lights were the types to be placed on tracks.
Are there better transformers nowadays for quartz lights? I've also seen some that are real transformers, but shaped like a fluorescent ballast. ARe these better?
Re: 12 volt transformers for quartz halogen pinlights
one more problem with this pin lights is that when they are mounted on a no access ceiling, it's hard to replace the transformer specially for the wac brands.that's why it's better to have these lights on ceiling with catwalks just incase their transformers go wild he he he he.
