its a 5 unit apartment, 2 br, 1.5 toilet and bath with floor area of 52sqm per unit. yung size ng pipe for drainage is 4".

I assume the 52 sqm is the floor area of one floor? 5 units of apartments, I'd say 4" pipe is small. I'd go for, at least 6" or 8". Heck, go for the largest that would fit. Apartment dwellers, IMHO, usually have no malasakit for the property so best to have a big margin on these things.

Can't recall how long but it's within minutes. Read the label. It's there. But recommended you do it twice only then switch to other techniques. Careful. Sosa (or lye) is highly corrosive. Wear rubber gloves. Try it also with hot water. But you'll have to boil a heck of a lot.

as for the p-traps, para kasing tuloy tuloy din yung dumi from sink hanggang drainage e wherein dapat mapunta sya dun sa "p" nung tubo, how about yung bottle trap ba yun?

Bottle traps work the same way as a P-Trap. That's what I use at home. Instead of a bend at the bottom, it has a plastic bottle you can screw off to collect the gunk.

If you are into re-piping, you may also want to connect your sink drain into your septic tank. But have a grease trap in between. I would assume you have a large enough tank for each unit or a common septic tank for all units, properly sized. I also hope your septic tank is in an accessible place with a removable cover so you can have it desludged every 5 to 7 years.

While we're into septic tanks: Where do you live? If within the Manila Water area, desludging service is free when done within the company's rotating schedule. If outside schedule, fee is less than P1k, a lot cheaper and more professionally done than the service by that other common household name.

i'm intrigued though - as i understand certain areas now have real sewer systems with no need for septic tanks.

Sorry, don't bet on P1k. I was just told there was a price increase. But price is zero if you have desludging done within the company's schedule.

On sewer lines, it'll be a long time before everyone is covered. In 1997 (when Manila Water started), the sewer coverage of our concession area was just 3%. Today, about 16%. If we aggressively go for 100%, there'll be congestion in most parts of the city because of all the diggings. So stopgap is to build treatment plants at the river banks and intercept all the pollutant inflows, aiming for 100% coverage of the three rivers (Pasig, San Juan, Marikina) in 10-15 years. Not ideal, but, at least, we start saving the rivers.

After that is done, then sewer lines may be laid at a not-traffic-congesting pace.

last week e pinalinis namin at pinalagyan namin ng screen kaso after ilang araw lang barado na naman, so i checked it myself at barado nga.

yung proposed screen installation na sinasabi ko e hindi nagawa kundi gumawa ng parang open box at inilagay lang sa ibabaw ng mga tubo pero may dumi ngang nakuha, fresh kanin pa!:mad:

i have the pictures but im having a hard time retrieving it from my phone kaya gumawa na lang ako ng drawing.

yan pala yung drainage system ng 2nd unit ( ganyan din sa lahat ) at napansin ko e pantay ang placement ng mga pvc pipes kaya imposibleng malagyan ng screen yung galing mismo sa mga units so cancel ko na yung screen na solution. napansin ko rin na sobrang dumi at mabaho na dahil siguro dun sa mga dumi na dumikit na sa pipe, baka yung 4" na diameter e naging 2" na lang kaya mabilis magbara, paano na po kaya gagawin ko mga master for long term solution?

1. ang naiisip po namin e gawing open canal, para wala ng pvc at siguradong malaki na drainage system, ok po ba ito? mag aamoy mabaho po ba pag open canal? pero naka-slope naman po yung pagkakakabit nung mga pipes kaya wala dapat tubig dun sa canal, pwede po ba ito o may mas magandang solusyon?

2. for short term solution, buhusan ng liquid sosa or equivalent yung drainage system para matanggal yung mga tumigas na na dumi sa pipe para maging 4" ulit:D

3. short term pa din, ipalinis ng pressurized washer yung drainage system para tanggal lahat ng dumi, mga 300psi, matanggal nga kaya lalo na yung mga matitigas na na dumi?

4. meron po bang pwedeng ilagay sa p-trap ng sink para masala yung dumi? para pag puno na e hindi na magtuloy tuloy ma drain yung tubig at mapilitan silang linisin na yun? kung meron nito, gagawin ko ito after 2 or 3
