Thanks Doc, which I do remember we had plans for a safety week. Well starting May 2011 I plan to start a safety MONTH thread for us to remember to always be safe.... 😉

How much is the refillable fire extinguisher these days? good for electrical, petroleum and combustible material fires.....plus the handy extinguisher for automotive use. what we use here at the school are the disposable types they say. how do you spot a disposable from a refillable one? TIA

ang fire extinguisher na madalas niyo nakikita na ABC type at pressurised ay hinde nagexpire. kaya lang meron batas dito sa pinas na need refill. bakit kamo. kasi ganito yan, ang powder sa loob habang tumatagal nagkakaron siya na tinatawag na caking. namumuo ba. kaya naman ang lcocal fire department ay gusto nila every year. ang pagalaga neto ay shake ang fex. para mag loosen ang powder. or kung bibili kayo ng bago, kunin niyo ay cartridge type, sobrang mahal naman neto. eto ung fex na na meron cylinder na maliit na nakatabi sa mismong fex. tulad eto ng sa airgun. hinde lang magamit kasi magkaiba sila ng thread.
ang totoo niya ang powder ng fex ay effective siya kahit wala sa loob ng tank. cheers

Sir, maraming salamat po sa paliwanag na hindi talaga nag e-expire ang laman ng F extinguisher...."regular lang i- shake" para hindi mag solidify...mahusay sa racket ang 'pinas na magpalit taon taon ng FEx....palagay ko kung walang pressure dapat palitan na pero kung intact pa ang pressure...ok pa nga yan....sinubukan ko yung 5 year na "expired " na FEx namin....ok pa rin, naka-patay pa ng malakas na bushfire... sayang nga at inubos ng mga bata.... better safe with a properly pressurized fire extinguisher is better than nothing at all.
