There's a buildup of mold in the bathroom curtains after a couple of months. Is this normal? The exhaust fan is on during the shower. Will it be better if the curtain is half open after shower to allow the steam to get out? Or should the fan be on for a few minutes more after showering?

Re: How to avoid Mold buildup in bathroom curtains

One thing we should know with molds and mildew is that both like it much in areas that are dark, wet and warm. That is more likely our common bathroom. So after shower it is best to rinse a little bit our walls and the curtain with a cold water and remove as much water as you can. then you can leave the door open and the curtain well spread to speed up the drying process of the walls. Turning on the fan will also give a big help in the process.

Re: How to avoid Mold buildup in bathroom curtains

a good and lasting solution is to use anti-mold paint i think boysen has a good product but cant remember the name. i used it in our bathroom and vuala no more molds, our bathroom does not have windows only an exhaust fan and before it easily gets molds just after paimting.REMEMBER MOLDS are DANGEROUS!!! it can casue respiratory ailment so remove it as soon as posible and children are easly suseptible to pathogens such as molds.. If they say that the paint is not for wood(if ur walls and seiling are made out of wood like ours) remember to paint it first with a primer like flat wall enamel so dat the anti mold paint would stick....

hope this helps..

Okay... the very first thing to do is Wash the curtain with detergent and vinegar. Put half the recommended amount of detergent in your washing machine. ... also you can fill your tub with water and 1 cup (300 g) of salt. Plug the drain and add the salt. ...Let the curtain soak for 3 hours. ...then just Air-dry the shower curtains. And remember making repairs it's hard work sometimes I get panic when I can't do something in this case I take some seductive. I recommend you after fixing everything in your bathroom take a bath with https://purekana.com/products/almond-coconut-cbd-bath-bomb/

Scum is formed when soap molecules react with minerals in the water, creating a precipitate that sticks to surfaces and doesn’t rinse off well. Using products that resist scum formation can be a significant factor in fighting buildup. You can try this for yourself by switching from bar soap to a liquid soap or a body wash, which are less scum-forming. This is especially true with products that are technically detergents rather than soaps (such as body wash and shower gel).

You need to replace the plastic shower curtain to make it easy to clean and install the ventilation fan into the bathroom. will reduce mold situation.

Try to treat the curtain with a mixture of vinegar and washing powder, pour this mixture into a spray bottle and apply to the entire curtain, then wipe

Insightful, we have no exhaust in our cr and this is a common problem for me. I even use bleach to clean our cr often.
