With continuous rains, moss growth is amazing. I have trees overhanging along the front street where I live, with scarce sunlight and with the rains, moss is thriving. Anybody out there have any idea how to clean or eliminate the growth of moss? I've tried pressure washing and frequent metal brush scrubbing.
Re: How to eliminate moss growth?
Ferrous ammonium sulfate is the most common chemical used in products designed to kill moss. It usually comes with a spay bottle. You will need to control the ph of the area .. moss loves acidic places. You can go to Department of Agriculture to secure a soil test kit or go to your local medical supply store to get some litmus paper to find out if your area is acidic. Unfortunately .. with the extent of pollution around .. things will likely be acidic and this is one of the things that promote moss growth.
I hope this helps.
