sir, tanong lang po, pwede ba flatwall latex muna ang first and second coat sa wall na plywood saka ang last coat acrylic paint? kasi wala talaga akong budget na iba, kung ibibili ko lahat ng acrylic hindi kakasya pera ko kasi malaki laki yung pipintura ko na wall. ok na ba ang latex tapos ang last coat acrylic paint na? maraming salamat po..

Pwede siguro. Nasubukan ko na yung Boysen/Nation flatwall latex as first coat then Davies Megacryl yung last coat. This is on hardiflex board.

flatwall latex is perfect for Hardiflex is cementitious..but not on wood and wood products like plywood.

Pero pwede naman talaga ang latex sa plywood eh...kahit saan in fact...but i wont simply do it..for the plain reason that plywood has other "perfect"companion finishes.

this thread should die naturally by saying a simple No to latex on plywood.

Sometimes I can't understand why some people insist on using latex paint on plywood. Maybe they should be properly informed or educated on proper paint applications.

Most do it for some reasons:
1) They grew up seeing painters using latex on their homes
2) The hardware seller/promodiser told them that it would work
3) They had some quantity left and made use of it so as not to spend
4) They have trying/using it and saw no undesirable effects
5) Reluctance to change (this applies to any field of work imaginable)
6) They want this thread to keep on going and going and going :rofl:

Hey joey81, bro,

Nothing to be sorry for, what you did on your hardiflex board is just right. HARDIFLEX or FLEXBOARD for that matter are not plywood, they are cement fiber panels that is perfect for latex or acrylics. They are cementitious in nature so no problem there friend, OK ? 😉 🙂 :p

Dunn and Edwards. Easy to use, water-based at walang amoy halos. Works well on wood.

Maraming projects na akong gamit yan for the reason na hindi mabaho at mabilis matuyo. Hanggang ngayon ok pa naman. Hindi lang kasing tibay ng enamel. Yun ngang kisame sa cr nilagyan ko ng texture by adding patching compound and so far ayos pa.

Ma try nga rin. Sana gumana nga.
I already primed plywoods with flatwall enamel.
I will run the second coat with flat latex. Then stick a tape and see what happens.

^ for as long as hindi mo sasadyain tuklapin ok naman. Stay away lang sa choco brown esp kung may halong acricolor kasi nagmamapa o baka kulang lang ako ng prep.
