if you guys have been to the multilevel parking of sm megamall (i'm sure you did). their flooring is somewhat painted with a thick semireflective paint that sticks to the wheels. when wet, it's not slippery at all (rubberized?)
would you know what kind of paint this is? i'm looking at epoxy paint, but i doubt it can give the anti slip properties.
my garage is finished smooth with cement and slipping is inevitable specially during rains. to add, spils are absorbed by concrete resulting to stains and ugly discolorations. it's hard to clean unfinished concrete as well.

Went to Rockwell today. On the way down the ramp to the lower basement level, there were security guards signaling me to stop. Apparently they motion for all cars to slow down. I then noticed that their carpark floor is newly painted and, because it's been raining, it became slick. Wonder if they used the right paint.

definitely it's not rubberized. rubberized paint is weak and won't be able to handle vehicular traffic. it even has poor performance for foot traffic.
and yes, it's epoxy.
what you do is, after the epoxy primer coat, you apply the first coat of epoxy topcoat. and while it's still tacky, you broadcast fine mesh silica sand. after the first coat of epoxy topcoat has cured, usually after 6-12hours, you vacuum off or blow off the excess silica sand. then you apply a second or third coat of epoxy topcoat. the broadcast silica sand give the anti-slip texture.
or you can also experiment with a thick application of epoxy primer coat with broadcast silica sand, after which you apply the succeeding epoxy topcoats.

Interesting, pinoychem, that that technique was also discussed in the pinoy boatbuilders' forum as a way to paint boatdecks to make them non-slippery. It may not be very comfortable on bare feet, though, or when kneeling on it (which one does rather often on a boat). Instead of sand, some people recommend also lambat. But I'm not sure if that would work (or be cheap enough) on a large driveway.

rough or smooth - depends on the mesh or size of the silica sand.
if when you touched it it was smooth, then perhaps there was no silica sand used but they just added matting agent to the formulation of the top coat.
i will try to check and also touch soon...

May be difficult to clean and hard to roll around tools if you put too much roughness on the floor, Ernie.
My garage was finished with fine gravel. Thought it was a cool idea to prevent cars from skidding. But, for a workshop, bad idea. Punishing to the knees when you kneel working and kusot is tough to blow away.
