Yey! After 7 years living in a apartment, we're finally moving to a house in LP! :trampoline:

I have one problem with my parking tho (finally have a secured parking!), tho safe and shaded, there is a possibility of "dagta" and fruit from the mango tree falling to my car. So I'm kinda worried. My first option is to buy a car tent. I'm not sure if this will hold as the mangoes are huge! Parang mangang kalabaw eh. Baka masira lang yung tent. Any ideas?

To give you an idea, here's how the parking looks like.

A driveway canopy is another option. You may use welded pipe frames or metal frames and use GI corrugated sheets or Lexan sheets as your roofing. Just make sure they are leak proof when constructed.

Thanks @willyfernando. Thats actually a good option but worried about the cost of it. It's actually really good if I just own the place.. Problem is its just a rented house. So I don't want to invest that much.

Re: Parking below a mango tree, tips

So wala kang ibang option but build a collapsible tent..DIY style kung gusto mo ng matibay..use 3/4 galvanized pipe that can be bolt to form a frame then ang gawin mung bubong ay lona which is mas matibay din kaysa nabibiling car tent sa mall..

Re: Parking below a mango tree, tips

Hi there doms,

Its good you posted a picture of the place you wanted to put a parking roofing on your new rented place. At least we can easily visualize how to approach the problem and site some possible solutions.

There are two options that I could think of for your situation.

1st option, you can buy a thick trapal, the type that truckers use for their truck beds during their deliveries. You can for the meantime tie them up on strategic areas/places to be able to provide roofing protection for your car, or you can provide some bamboo support for post and upper horizontal support for your trapal. This is a very cheap form of roofing protection and it can also be removed since you said you are just renting the place.

2nd option, you can buy or diy a collapsible tent made of light piping/tubing similar to those tents used for picnics, summer outings or in memorial parks. This is also cheap and removable but the above option is of course cheaper.

Hope this can give you an idea on how to provide protection for your car. 😉 :trampoline:

Yes bro I was to suggest the polycarbonate sana but its very expensive since sabi ni doms na ayaw nyang masyadong gumastos since it is not their own property. Maganda nga ang material na ito, light, classy, sturdy and with different colors to choose from, but really expensive, 🙁 less than 2K per single sheet of 4' X 8' , that was some few years back when I asked its price sa mga known home depots, which is not far from mall prices. 😮

Re: Parking below a mango tree, tips

Re: Parking below a mango tree, tips

use construction net like this one..countour cover the tress under like a funnel - protect the trees clean dropping leaves etc from time to time..ive seen one in thailand village they cover their tress with nets to collect all dropped mangoes.

Cheers..

Re: Parking below a mango tree, tips

That's a good idea bro pyth for covering the tree dropping leaves, twigs and fruits, but I think doms would like also some roofing protection from exposure to rains and heat of the sun. Plus perhaps some tree saps that's usually acidic and can damage car's paint finish.

Reminder lang bros,

Bro joey81, miked and doms, its nice to have some light moments from time to time but lets stick with the main topic/subject.

Thanks :p :thanks:
