Repainting Existing Grill (QDE) with Water base Paint (Roof Guard)

guy just like to ask if possible to apply roof guard onver old QDE painted grill

my porpose is odor less.

if i need to primer, What primer should i use?

im not sure if sanding it will be enough.

hope you guys can help me..

Is this a re-painting job or a new one. Sanding and wire brushing will help remove old paint and rust, then dust properly then apply Turco, Bronco or Turbo rust converter, then let it cure overnight. Then apply epoxy metal primer, can be the gray one or the color brick, your choice.

Then you can apply your choice of gloss top coat. 😉 🙂 😎 Preferably the oil based paint and not the water based ones.

what i did to my window grills is sand para gumaspang tapos yung part na may kalawang ay nilagyan ko ng rust converter tapos yung part na kinain na ng kalawang e ni-fill ko ng polytuff then sand tapos paint diretso ng epoxy paint na white gloss, kaso after ilang months e nag yellowish yung kulay.

sa gate naman, primed with epoxy then sand para gumaspang tapos water based na latex na cream ang color (mixed), experiment ko lang to kasi sobra yung napa-mix e, dumikit naman yung paint and it has been 3 months ok pa naman sya

ang prob ko kasi mabaho kaya hinde ako makapag oil base paint and super less sanding lang dapat kasi maalikabok ang pag sasanding..

i was thinking na sanding and apply ng water base paint... puwde kaya yun?

primer po muna ata bago paint, baka tumagos yung kalawang
