Not sure if this would apply to you but, in my old house, we had screens built with the frames having a J-hook that slots into a small tube that is welded on the main window frame. To remove, we just pull it up and out.

This type of screen frame, however, means it won't be flush against the window jamb.

Re: window screen material - alternative

I am not sure if this is a "good" alternative but I was able to purchase a solar screen from HMR recently, P1.5K for a 6'x10' roll (P25/sqft). Planning to use it to keep bugs/insects away apart from its main function which is to reflect heat and glare. It is attached to the window frame via button snaps so removing them for cleaning can be easy. What I like about it as well is its ability to provide you privacy from the outside and yet have a clear view from the inside. The only thing I don't like about it is it has to be installed outside the window for it to be effective, I hope it can withstand our harsh tropical environment.

I am not sure though if it will perform well as stated as I am always skeptical about reviews; have yet to experience it first hand. I'll be installing them later this May after were done with exterior painting.

Here is a link to the product: http://www.coolaroousa.com/view-product.do?product_id=799870436506 .
