May I ask what exactly do you mean by "your new to this", just curious here coz haven't you done any simple DIY stuff in your home before even with perhaps your simple hand held tools like the ordinary hammer, carpenter's saw or a screw driver and a pair of pliers? we all started that way I guess.
Anyway what exactly is your interest in DIYing, is it in carpentry/woodworking, metalworking/welding, electronics, car restorations etc etc.
