Hello everyone... I'm Alex, new member here.

I am a Graphic Designer by profession, but with interest also into wood working and some other construction thing. 😉 that's why I joined here para matuto sa mga expert.

Altough I am not an architect, mahilig din po ako mag design ng interior and architectural design, because I love furnitures and beautiful structures and interiors.
Actually po, I did some architectural design and interior sa client, relatives and friends.

I came across to this site just last week while I am googling for a wood working materials. So, habang nagb-browse ako dito sa website, nakita ko po yun thread about mdf boards project. And it seems like interesting thread at madami akong malalaman about basic wood working from the experts here.;)

Thanks and please share some more knowledge!

Cheers!

Sir Boggieman, I prefer Illustrator over Corel po. Pero nakagamit na din po ako ng Corel.
Kung minsan kasi may nag papa-design sa akin, Corel ang gusto nila.
Sir, bakit po, Corel po ba ginagamit nyo?:)

I would say Corel is more versatile than Illustrator specially when it comes to color separations. You can preview your color separations in true CMYK. It is more dynamic and has more tools than illustrator. I always start my drawings with Corel before i export them to Sketchup. The only advantage of Illustrator over Corel is it handles better color comuinication with Photoshop.

Re: Hi to all!

Ahh, ganun po ba Sir? Siguro po nasanay lang kasi ako sa Illustrator. Most of Graphic Designer kasi, Adobe ang ginagamit eh. Thanks for the info sir.:p

Re: Hi to all!

Thank you Sir 🙂

Yes, I'm sure that there's a lot of ineresting and helpful things in this site.
That is why when I came across here, I never noticed that I already spent half of my day reading some threads here. And there are lots of good people who are willing to share their knowledge. :thanks:

Thanks also for appreciating my 2-storey design. Actually that's a multi purpose structure. It's an office and learning center during day time. At night, it was like a mini hotel or rest house for some VIP, visitors, and boss who wants to stay and rest.

Yes, I designed the structure with a lot of ventilation, big windows and sliding louver style doors, so the air can freely goes in and out inside the structure. The usual temperature in el nido town was so hot because of the huge limestone in the surroundings. You know, if the stone was directly hit by the sun in the whole daytime, it will spread the heat during night time. So I designed the structure and interior with fresh ambience while your staying inside and out.

Those materials are made from salvaged woods from the forest. Most of the woods are yakal and narra. Ceiling are made of small bamboo (they call it - "buho" in palawan) Finishing are just wood stain and natural varnish to preserve the natural feel of wood. Facade are mostly brown glass and louvers. Big windows on left side, and louvers on the right. Flooring are 2x2 feet granite glossy tiles. Interior of batrooms are Zen style. I also designed the landscape with lots of plants and we retain some trees (trees with squirel, haha) in the surroundings to give the fresh feeling while stying outside the structure. You're right and just like you... many visitors told me that they want to have a house or rest house exactly like that structure. According to my boss, we've spent 5M in that structure... 🙂 thanks again sir!

Re: Hi to all!

sir Alex, newbie din ako dito pero let me just say na ang ganda nung dinesign mo... I love the way the "living" area is opened up, and the high ceiling... pag nanalo ako sa lotto gusto ko may bahay din akong ganyan... airy and well lighted, naturally... the only paint I saw was white, and nasa wall lang. Thumbs up sir!
