Hi Everyone,
My name is Roel. Am not really a handyman yet of a DIYer, but am interested to learn. I came upon this site since last year and reading back old threads; only registered now. I dont have any tools yet, and maybe looking forward to get some advise or tips, or even buy the old tools of the masters that you wanted to dispose. I was actually thinking of buying cheap tools from australian surplus since I cant afford to buy the branded and durable ones, I ended up with sander which after using for a week, met its kingdom come; and a jigsaw that doesnt cut straight 🙂
Anyways, I hope to learn many things from the masters. I hope you wont mind me lurking around reading your post. I will try to learn by reading and seeing your inspiring works, thanks.
Re: Learning thru ths site
welcome to PHM Roel, we all start from little to no knowledge but only interest and dedication to pursue. I honestly want you to know I don't like buying expensive tools, BUT, I am not rich to buy cheap tools often. Often people starting off with cheap tools end up stopping from the hobby bec of the frustration they bring. I suggest you start with the common handtools and work up from there if the interest is still there after.
Enjoy the site but please keep it clean...
Cheers
