Hi Guys / Gals

First and foremost, I'm a DIY person at heart. Secondly, in my preparations for building my dream (retirement) house, I keep hitting this website in my google search, whenever I need some info related to house construction. So, it just came naturally for me to join this group as I know that I can learn a lot from the discussion in this forum. And I can also share whatever little knowledge I have with people having the same interest.

I'm part of the generation called the "martial law babies", it was during my adolescent years that PD-1081 was declared. My college days in UP Diliman can best be describe as studying and rallies combined into one. It was also during my early adult life that EDSA (1986) People Power took place - I was working at Hyundai Construction then, building the ADB Bldg in EDSA when it all started. It was a personal experience I will never forget as it was the only time I felt every FILIPINO was united as a country.

My hobby is simply being a DIY, always fixing anything at home, even if its not broken, sort of improving it's design, ika nga 🙂 he he he. My favourite projects then was doing knock-down kitchen/bedroom cabinets using the System-32 concept/design (I'm a die hard Ikea and Hafele customer). I was so engrossed into it then, that I even invested on a table saw and a router table just to make my own cabinets. It's been awhile since I made my last cabinet, but I plan to do it again for the house that me/wife will be constructing soon.

P.S. It's nice to see a lot of DIY ladies in this forum. It only goes to show that being a DIY is not just for guys 🙂
