Hi everyone. oloc here, i've been a member of this forum for many months now, just lurking around, reading and learning along the way.
I guess it's time to finally introduce myself 🙂
i'm an Electronics and Communications Engineer. I formerly worked as network technician, audio amplifiers and effects RnD, and now working as software engineer.
my tapatalk forum reader includes this forum, philmug.ph ( mac users group ), pinoy1911 ( gun enthusiasts ), mitsulancerph ( lancer car forum ), tsikot ( general car forum), philmusic and filairsoft ( airsoft guns).
i guess that would sum up my interests. 🙂
i'm not skilled diy-er. i'm just one of those guys who wants to be able to do simple house hold repair/mainenance tasks.
i'm planning to transfer to my new house before the year enda and i'm hoping to learn lots of things here to better equip me with theoretical knowledge in doing modifications, improvements, maintenance and repair around the house.
thanks in advance and hopefully i could contribute one way or another. 🙂
Re: newbie-ish 🙂
It's so good to have another engineer on board. I'm sure sooner than later your expertise could help somebody out here.
Please allow me to congratulate you in advance on your coming move to the new home. A major investment such as a house would still need careful planning and study even after the build is complete. Your joining and active participation in our forum tells me that you are making proactive preparations for the tasks you have mentioned above.
Glad to report that I've seen a lot of members here who had been on the same boat as you are now. As home owners I'm sure they could chime in and give additional knowledge to help you make better informed decisions.
Likewise we have seasoned contractors here as well. Members whose intentions are more focused on giving back something to the community rather than seeking more business for themselves. Most of them successful already in their own rights. Watch out for them as buried in their responses would be invaluable advises that would be very useful for your intentions.
Welcome to the PHM community Bro Oloc.
Jay

Re: newbie-ish 🙂
Hello there bakaldos ( Oloc ),
First of all WELCOME to this DIYing and friendly community. :superman:
Well finally you decided to introduce yourself na, and that is good at least we know somethings of yourself and your expertise. And yes I have noticed your username before when you first registered and started logging in but not participating pa, I thought the forum has another guy who is into metalworking, an addition to the metal boys here, of course that's obvious with your username and if one will translate it, it can be "steeltwo" or "two steels", LOL, sigh, but I guess I was mistaken.
Anyway really no problem with that, what is important is you've joined the forum and we are here to share and perhaps help you out in case you have some questions needed to be answered specially in various diy chores on improvements, maintenance and repairs in your new home come end of the year.
CHEERS bro Oloc and enjoy the forums !!!! 😀 :attack:
